Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

"What happened?" Garland emerged from the kitchen with a drumstick in his mouth.

Holding her phone, Liza said anxiously, "Dad isn't answering my calls."

Garland rolled his eyes. "What's so surprising about that? He never answers my calls."

"No," Liza said. "Dad loves me the most. He's never ignored my calls."

Debra chimed in, "Could it be that he didn't see the calls?"

"No way. My dad always has his phone with him. He didn't pick up last night. By now, he should have called me back," Liza explained.

"Well, why not just call home?" Garland whipped out his phone and called home.

The line soon went through.

"Hello, this is Eaton Mansion."

"It's me. Put my dad on the phone."

"Mr. Eaton? Is it really you?"noveldrama

"Who else would it be? Just get my dad on the phone."

"Your father, he..."

"What's going on? Did anything happen to him?"

"He is in the hospital."

"What? Is he ill? Is it serious?"

"It's serious. The doctor is pessimistic about his condition."

"We're coming home right now."

Garland quickly hung up and dragged Liza downstairs.

"What happened?"

"Dad is in the hospital. We need to get back. I'll book the flight right now."

"What?"

Far away in the Eaton Mansion, Verna hung up the phone and glanced at Bert, who was standing nearby.

"Sir, was that good?"

"Next time, get to the point right away and speak with more urgency." "Yes, sir."

Verna nodded but groaned inwardly, 'How much more urgent could I get? If I pushed any harder, Mr Garland Eaton might break down.

Bert sat down on the sofa while the butler poured him a cup of tea and asked, "Sir, are they coming back?"

"They are. Ugh! They thought I didn't know about them sneaking away. I've just turned a blind eye. What did they do? They've been gone for days and even went to Orkgate. Thats no place for them. There are toomany enemies lurking in the shadows." Cóntent

"Exactly. Mr. Garland Eaton and Miss Eaton are indeed a bit reckless this time."

Bert took a sip of his tea. "Debra has married Marion, right?"

"Yes. Mr. Garland Eaton and Miss Eaton were the best man and maid of honor."

"That's an honor for the Houston family. If Fermin were alive, Marion might not have the chance to marry her."

"When she was born, you were there but lost the bet."

"The Four Great Families are all tied together. The Frazier family only has one daughter. The other families were fighting to win her over. The Potter family won but something

happened to Andrew. What a shame. And Marion laughed the last."

Bert shook his head.

Debra was a good woman, but Fermin was not lucky.
