A Divorce He Regrets

Chapter 260

Chapter 260:

“Put me down!” I screamed, kicking wildly. My fists slammed into his back, but he didn’t even flinch. “Alex! You fucking overgrown caveman! Let me go!”noveldrama

“Keep fighting, Raina,” he said, his voice maddeningly calm as he carried me up the stairs. “See where it gets you.”

I fought harder. “You are such an arrogant, overbearing, controlling piece of—”

“Careful,” he cautioned, amusement threading his tone.

My blood was boiling. “I swear to God, Alex, if you don’t put me down right now—”

“Or what?” he taunted. “You gonna fight me?”

I let out a rage-filled growl. “I hate you!”

“Yeah?” He kicked open my bedroom door and strode in. “You’ll hate me even more in a second.”

Before I had time to protest, he tossed me down onto the bed.

I bounced slightly, my breath leaving me in a sharp huff. The second I tried to sit up, he was on top of me, pinning me down with nothing but the sheer weight of his presence.

His hands braced on either side of me, his face inches from mine. His eyes burned into me—fierce and unrelenting.

“Calm. Down,” he ordered.

“Go to hell,” I spat, shoving at his chest, but he didn’t budge.

I struggled harder, my heart hammering as I fought against him. But he was too strong, too steady—completely unmoving no matter how hard I pushed.

“Raina,” he murmured, his voice softer now. “Just listen to me.”

“No!” I twisted beneath him, rage and desperation warring inside me. “I have to do something, Alex! Faith is out there, and I—”

My words were cut off when his hands suddenly cupped my face. Then his lips crashed onto mine. My body froze. My breath hitched. For a moment, everything stopped—the fear, the anger, the chaos spinning inside me. It was just him. And then, before I could even think of what I was doing, I kissed him back.

His arms tightened around me, his body pressing against mine, his lips moving with a desperation that matched my own. It was deep, consuming—a silent plea wrapped in fire and frustration.

My fingers curled into his shirt, holding on as though he were the only solid thing in my world.

I didn’t know how long we stayed like that, tangled in a storm of feelings too overwhelming to name. Then, just as suddenly as it had started, Alex pulled away.

His forehead rested against mine, his breathing ragged.

“Trust me,” he murmured. His voice was low, rough, almost pleading. I swallowed, my heart still pounding. Then he stood up.

I barely had time to register the loss of his warmth before I heard the sharp click of the door locking. My head snapped up.

“You did not—” But Alex was already walking away.

I jumped off the bed, running straight to the door, grabbing the handle and shaking it violently.

“You asshole!” I screamed, pounding my fists against the wood. “Alex! Open this damn door!” Silence.

My chest heaved as I slammed my palm against the door again, this time harder. “Please!” My voice cracked. “Please don’t do this!” Nothing.

My shoulders slumped. The fight drained from me all at once, leaving me feeling weak and empty inside. I slid down to the floor, my forehead pressing against the cold wood as tears spilled freely down my cheeks.
