A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 187 An Apologetic Tone

Sierra pressed her lips tightly together as she listened to Madison's words.

Suddenly, the sound of an argument erupted outside the room. She looked up just as the door swung open, and a bodyguard stepped in.

"Ms. Shaw, there are two people here to see you."

"Let them in."

Sierra was a little puzzled, but moments later, Liam and Janet walked in, and her expression changed slightly.

"Sierra, you really think highly of yourself, don't you? Even in the hospital, you have bodyguards standing watch. Are you afraid someone's coming after you because you've done something shameful?"

Janet sneered, and her voice dripped with sarcasm. Disdain and displeasure

flickered in her eyes.

Sierra's expression turned cold. Her voice was indifferent as she responded, "I've done nothing shameful, but that doesn't stop someone from harassing me relentlessly. Since I was injured badly enough to be hospitalized, I have to take precautions. Who knows? Next time, it might not just be my shoulder that gets hurt."

The "someone" she was referring to was, of course, Benson.

Janet wasn't stupid-she immediately understood who Sierra was talking about. Her expression darkened, and just as she was about to fire back, Liam pulled her back by the arm, shooting her a warning look.

"Sierra, how's your injury?"

He stepped forward as he asked in a gentle voice full of concern, his face carrying a trace of worry.

In front of Liam, Sierra's icy demeanor softened slightly.

Liam had always been kind to her. Though they didn't see each other often, his attitude toward her had always been warm.

Her tone became a little less sharp, adopting a more polite and respectful air.

"My shoulder was dislocated. I can't lift my left arm for now. It'll take some time to heal."

Liam sighed softly, guilt lacing his voice. "I'm sorry, Sierra. I only found out about your injury this morning. What Benson did was inexcusable. It's my failure as a father for not raising him properly, and you've suffered because of it."

Sierra pressed her lips together and remained silent.

Liam gave Janet a slight push.

Janet was deeply reluctant. She had never wanted to come to the hospital in the first place, which was why she had secretly called William early that morning, hoping he could find a way to make Sierra forgive Benson voluntarily.noveldrama

But just now, William had messaged her, saying he had failed. She had mentally cursed him countless times but had no choice but to come to the hospital herself.

For the sake of Benson, she would have to swallow her pride.

Taking a deep breath, she spoke. "Sierra, Benson acted recklessly this time. He didn't mean to hurt you. I'll cover all your medical expenses and any costs for your recovery. Just go to the police station and sign a letter of forgiveness so they can release him."

Sitting beside Sierra, Madison nearly exploded in anger at Janet's words.

This wasn't an apology-it was practically a command.

Liam seemed refined and reasonable at the very least, but Janet was clearly an insufferable woman. No wonder Benson was so arrogant and entitled-he was just like her.

It was absolutely ridiculous.

Just as Madison was about to snap back, Sierra's cool, measured voice cut through the air.

"I don't think you understand the situation. Benson assaulted others—not just me, but also my senior. Our medical bills should rightfully be covered by him. That's the bare minimum. But from the way you say it, it almost sounds like we're the ones taking advantage of him."

Her tone grew colder. "I won't forgive him. The police will handle this however they see fit."
