Chapter 1496 Something's Wrong

#Micah Is Not Dead, But Severely Injured, And Has Been Taken To New Life Hospital.

As soon as this news broke, it caused quite a stir.noveldrama

Sadie immediately instructed Jesse to secure the hospital and then hurried there with Annika.

Ryan and Silas, upon hearing the news, were equally excited and rushed to the hospital as well.

Their car followed closely behind Sadie's as they exited the underground parking lot of VIC Group.

At this point, it wasn't just them heading to New Life Hospital. Various media outlets and others who had gotten wind of the news were likely on their way too.

On the road, Sadie tried to keep her emotions in check and instructed Annika, "Seal off the hospital first. Don't let anyone in. Also, have Jesse verify if that person is really Micah."

"I know. I've already messaged Jesse. He should know what to do," Annika replied, her voice filled with hope.

She added, "Ms. James, if that person is really Mr. Clemens, this is incredible news."

"But something feels off," Arya said, her mind racing. "If Mr. Clemens is alive, why hasn't he contacted Ms. James? And if someone saved him, why take him to the remote New Life Hospital?"

"That's easy to explain," Annika reasoned. "Mr. Clemens was severely injured and probably unconscious, unable to contact anyone. The person who saved him might have just taken him to the nearest hospital."

"Then who saved him?" Arya asked, puzzled. "Mr. Clemens was attacked at Half Mountain Villa. The people who took him were likely the attackers. Why would they take him to a hospital?"

"Maybe Mr. Clemens escaped from the attackers and was rescued by a passerby," Annika suggested, still clinging to hope despite the odd circumstances. "We'll know more once we get to the hospital."

"The key question is, who sent the anonymous text to the reporters?" Arya pointed out. "Is the person who sent the text the same one stirring up trouble against Ms. James?"

Annika fell silent, nervously glancing at Sadie.

Even someone as straightforward as Arya had considered these issues, so Sadie must have thought of them too.

Sadie hadn't said much, likely deep in thought.

Right now, her only focus was on confirming if the person was Micah. Or more precisely, she hoped it was Micah, that he was alive and would come back.

As long as he was alive, nothing else mattered.

They could face and solve everything else together.

"I feel like this whole thing is a setup," Arya continued, not noticing Sadie's expression. "All of a sudden, so many media outlets are questioning Ms. James online, bombarding her with accusations. It has to be premeditated."

"And then, right at the end of the press conference, they all receive anonymous texts. It has to be connected."

"Stop talking," Annika nudged her, giving her a look.

Arya finally realized and, seeing Sadie's troubled expression in the rearview mirror, quickly tried to comfort her. "Ms. James, I was just rambling. Don't mind me."

"No, you're right," Sadie finally spoke. "But I just want him to be alive. As long as he's okay, I can face anything."

Hearing this, Arya and Annika felt a pang of sympathy.

Just then, Annika's phone vibrated. She picked it up and saw it was Jesse calling.

"Jesse!"

"I'm at the hospital. I saw the person. He does look like Mr. Clemens."

"What do you mean, 'looks like'?" Annika asked, confused.

"Give me the phone," Sadie said, taking it from Annika. She asked excitedly, "You saw him? Is it really him?"

"He looks like him, but something feels off."
