Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 165

Chapter 165:

Asher’s mother, Yadira Cruz, was hunched over his hospital bed, her face streaked with tears. Despite the throbbing pain coursing through his body, Asher wasn’t too alarmed. After all, he had been in countless fights before.

“Mom, what’s going on?” he rasped, his voice hoarse. “Why are you crying like that?”

Yadira struggled to speak, her sobs choking off her words.

“Mom, stop crying. This isn’t the first time I’ve ended up in the hospital.”

Finally, Yadira managed to speak, her voice trembling with sorrow. “Asher… you…”

Asher’s brow furrowed, a knot of unease twisting in his gut. What could be so bad that it had reduced his usually composed mother to this?

“Just spit it out, Mom. I’ve been fighting my whole life. What’s there to worry about?”

Yadira took a shuddering breath, her next words cutting through the air like a death sentence. “Your… your genitals… they’re destroyed. The doctor said you’ll never be able to… to be a man again.”

Her wail pierced the room, filled with anguish. “Asher, who did this to you? I swear, I’ll hunt them down and make them pay!”

Asher, her only child, was the last hope for the Cruz family line. Now that hope had been shattered.

Asher’s world tilted. His mind struggled to grasp the enormity of her words. His heart pounded as he realized the severity of his injuries. That bitch, Madisyn… she had kicked him so hard that he was now impotent—forever!

“Ah!” Asher screamed, clutching his head. “It’s Madisyn, Mom. Madisyn! She’s such a bitch! How could she do this to me!”

“Don’t worry, Asher. I’ll make sure we get justice,” Yadira replied, her voice filled with cold determination.

At the high school reunion, after Asher had fainted and been rushed to the hospital, the shocked eyes of the attendees followed Madisyn as she helped Susan, who was clutching her back in pain. After ensuring there was nothing serious, Madisyn decided to take Susan to the hospital for a thorough checkup.

Just as they were about to leave, Jenna blocked their path.

“Madisyn, you should apologize to Asher. He’s the Cruz family’s only heir, and they won’t just let this slide,” Jenna said sternly.

Madisyn smiled coolly. “Isn’t this what you hoped for, Jenna? You invited me here just to stir up trouble, didn’t you?”

Jenna’s face twisted in indignation. “Madisyn, how can you say that? I just wanted us all to reconnect. It’s been so long.”

“Jenna, don’t waste your breath on her,” Gilbert sneered, his disdain obvious. “Madisyn’s lost it. Ever since your family disowned her, she’s been vain and vindictive. Keep your distance from her.”

Jenna seemed torn but didn’t argue further.noveldrama

Teresa chimed in, “Jenna, let her be. If Madisyn wants to self-destruct, that’s her problem. She’s delusional if she thinks she can charm Dane. Gilbert never liked her; what makes her think Dane will?”

Gilbert glanced at Teresa, something about her tone unsettling him.

Jenna turned back to Madisyn with a helpless expression. “Madisyn, let me give you some advice. Stop depending on men. You leaned on Gilbert too much, and when that ended, you latched onto another. You need to stand on your own.”

“Exactly. Relying on your looks won’t last forever,” Teresa added.

Some in the crowd nodded in agreement, while others seemed skeptical.

Madisyn’s gaze swept the room before settling on Gilbert. “Gilbert, when we were together, who was really helping whom?” she asked calmly.

Gilbert tensed, memories of how Madisyn had quietly supported him when he first joined the family business rushing back. But under the scrutiny of their former classmates, he couldn’t admit that.

“Madisyn, I think you know very well that it was always me supporting you. Being my fiancée brought you many advantages,” he replied stiffly.

Madisyn laughed softly, irony lacing her tone. “Alright, Gilbert, if that’s how you see it.”

Gilbert avoided her gaze, struggling with the truth.

As Madisyn walked away, Teresa scoffed. “She’s insane. Asking Gilbert such a question—how absurd! She’s just a manipulator, relying on men and still playing the victim.”

The crowd murmured in disappointment.

“The Cruz family will make sure she pays for crossing them,” someone muttered.

“She can’t compare to Jenna,” another added, all eyes turning to Jenna, who sat gracefully beside Gilbert, exuding poise.

Jenna smiled, pleased with the way things had turned out. She had successfully painted Madisyn as a gold-digger, and everyone seemed to agree.

As the dinner neared its end, attendees thanked Jenna and Gilbert for hosting. Just then, a man’s phone buzzed with a notification from the school forum. He raised an eyebrow.

“What’s this?” he muttered, intrigued by the headline: “What’s the True Nature of the Most Handsome Boy in Our School?”
