Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1623

The news was still buzzing about H, and her inbox couldn't handle any more

messages.

Suddenly, a trending headline caught her eye, and she sprang up from the sofa, her gaze locked on the screen.

Her mind went blank for a moment, like her blood had turned to ice. She instinctively clicked on the link.

There it was a photo of Jackson with another woman at a press conference. They looked every inch the perfect couple, and Fiona couldn't tear her eyes away from the image. Tears threatened to spill, and her grip on the phone tightened as her hand shook.

"Brother..." she whispered, her voice breaking the silence of the living room. "Married..."

She mumbled to herself.

It felt like something essential had been ripped from her chest.

She couldn't quite pinpoint the feeling, couldn't find the words.

All she knew was the crushing weight in her chest.

Find Jackson!noveldrama

That was the only thought echoing in her mind.

She quickly grabbed a coat and dashed out to Woods Corporation. The streets were clear, but inside, her heart was a chaotic mess, desperate for answers.

Just as she pulled up at Woods Corporation, Fiona was about to get out when she spotted Jackson with another woman. They seemed to be in conversation, but from where she was, she couldn't catch a word.

She sat silently in the car, her lips parting slightly, yet she couldn't bring herself to call out to him.

"Take me to Bayside Villa," Fiona said coolly.

Her young face carried a detachment that seemed beyond her years. She handed over some cash and closed her eyes, trying to calm the storm of confusion in her mind.

Downstairs at Woods Corporation

Jackson glanced at a car speeding by, thinking it looked a lot like Fiona inside. But he shook off the thought, figuring she was probably napping at the Emerald Palace.

He couldn't help but find her love for food and sleep oddly charming.

Thinking of Fiona, he released the woman's hand beside him, his expression turning icy. "Don't pull this again. And I don't want to see any news about this in ten minutes."

His stern words left the woman momentarily frozen. She couldn't fathom why Jackson's mood had shifted so suddenly-everything had seemed fine just moments before.

"Jackson, is there some misunderstanding between us?" The woman clung to his sleeve, eager to know what she'd done wrong.

"We're not that close," Jackson said, striding away towards a waiting limo. "If it weren't for the Larkin family's standing, you wouldn't have even made it into the company today."

The Larkin family's standing?

Did he think of Zoe as just anyone?

She was the Larkin family's eldest daughter, their future leader, and Jackson had humiliated her like this!

She'd make sure to even the score!

...

Fiona got back to Bayside Villa a little after two, her phone flooded with messages and missed calls-all from Jackson.

Annoyed, she swapped out her SIM card for a new one. Almost immediately, a call came through.

"Fiona, you finally picked up," said the voice on the other end.

"Spit it out," Fiona snapped.

"Fiona, what's up? Why so upset?" The male voice sighed. "Representatives from International Glam have reached out again. When are you planning to meet with them?"
