Chapter 87 - The prophesy
Olivia
I gazed at the window, having no idea what to make of the woman in the room. When I had opened my eyes in this strange room. I had realized that I had stumbled into a place inhabited by the same beings I had left. I had panicked initially, thinking I was in another experiment, I had later on concluded that these beings didn't seem to want to harm or hurt me. The fact that these creatures ran a hospital was baffling. Though nothing surprised me anymore. I still had a doubt, whether I should trust these people or not.
This beautiful woman, who was just like them. Seemed happy and relaxed. She wasn't abused like me. She exuded a calming presence that silenced the horrors I had gone through. Talking to her felt nice.
"I will tell you everything I know."
The woman seemed to brighten up and sat back on her chair. She gently held my hand, "that's very brave of you. How old are you?"
"I am 19," I replied.
"So young!" She looked horrified.
"I am so sorry you had to go through such horrors at such a young age. How can I help you?" The way she said, it seemed earnest.
"Can you kill them for me?" I said.noveldrama
Her gaze turned steely, "yes, I promise you. They will go through worse, each one of them would suffer a fate worse than death."
I smiled, those words, even if they were empty promises, felt like music to my
ears.
"I was abducted by a group of men while returning from my job. It was late evening. They raped me, again and again, and again." Her grip tightened.
"There were several women like me. Kept in different cells. Their leader experimented on us, like lab rats. He gave me many injections. It made me like them.....like you people. Begging for mercy was useless. They violated us in every possible way.....Every day..."
I paused, my body broke out into a cold sweat at those memories.
"You can stop if you want." She said.
"No, I want to get over with it," I replied.
"They were trying to make us pregnant, I think. I heard some of them talking, but none of us got pregnant, thank God for that! I also heard them planning raids, kidnap alpha women, I don't understand what it meant."
The woman opposite me narrowed her eyes.
"How did you escape from them?"
"I pretended to be dead! Whenever one of us died. They used to dispose of the bodies. I don't know where they were going to throw me, but I took my chance. When the girl in my cell died. I switched with her body and lay down instead of her. They are not very bright. They didnt care whom they were throwing. I had passed out in the boot of the car. When I regained consciousness. I was here."
"You were very brave. Can you tell me more about their leader? And where they kept you?"
"Their leader is the most horrifying and disgusting creature I have ever seen. He looks like a deformed monster. Calls himself a scientist, but he never violated us. It was always his minions."
"Does he have a name?"
"They all called him boss, but once I eavesdropped on his conversation with another shifter, who was new. He called him Stuart."
I explained whatever I knew about those people and places they had kept me. As I mentioned, I felt free.
"Thank you, you have given some very valuable information. I promise you, those rogues will be caught and punished. You have suffered untold abuse. But you are a brave girl. Fate and Luna have led you here. There must be a reason for it."
"Luna?" I asked. I didn't understand most of their terms.
She laughed.
"You will know everything soon."

Alice
As I left the hospital, I was shaking with anger and disgust. Had it not been for Lucian's soothing presence in my mind, I would have shifted and ripped apart whatever I could have laid my hands on.
Lucian was aware of my mood, so he sighed, kept aside his drink and opened his arms as soon as I reached home. I immediately walked to him, looped my arms around his waist, and sniffed deeply. Taking comfort in his warmth.
He hugged me close. Resting his chin on top of my head.
I briefly closed my eyes and thanked Luna once again for my mate. Then I broke
the hug, took the glass of whiskey and finished it in one swig.
I relished the burn of the alcohol as it travelled down my throat to my stomach. It washed away the sick feeling that had been in me since I had talked to Olivia. I wished I could easily erase the awful image left in my psyche.
"More?" He asked, with an amused smile.
I nodded. He made me another drink, which was chugged down with equal enthusiasm.
"Should I make another?" He smiled once I was done with the third one.
"No, that's enough, too bad we can't get drunk," I mumbled. Our alcohol tolerance is pretty high.
"You can if you have the entire barrel of it. I can arrange it." He chuckled.
"Nah! I think I am good."
"Come here," he held up his arms again. Which I melted in gladly.
"Thank you for making Olivia talk, I preferred not to burden you with the ugliness of it." he rasped.
I smiled as I nuzzled his chest. "No need for thanks. It's my job as your mate to help in whatever way I can. You are not alone anymore, Lucian. For better or worse, we are stuck together. I'm here to share your burden, however ugly it might
be."
I lifted my hand and caressed his jaw. With a tired smile, he captured my hand and kissed each knuckle.
"You truly are a gift from Luna." He said tenderly," I love you, Alice."
"I love you too, Lucian." I stood on tiptoes and laid a gentle kiss on his lips. The kiss lingered only for a moment as we took comfort from each other.
"So, tell me all about your horrible day."
I pulled Lucian onto a comfy chair and made him sit down. He had been busy at the conference with the other alphas all this while and had arrived just an hour
ago.
"It wasn't that bad," He leaned and sank deeply into the cushion.
Sitting next to him, I watched quietly as he breathed in deep and slowly released the tension from his body along with his breath.
"I need to know what is going on, Lucian. I want to be prepared for whatever this is that is coming our way."
"I know."
His green eyes looked deeply into mine. Regret and a touch of hesitancy showed
in his face. Sitting up from his seat, he faced me fully.
Taking both my hands, he said, "whatever is approaching us, it's bad". "Whoever is leading these rogues is demented. Not only does he think he some sort of scientist, but all evidence also points to the idea that he is attempting to raise his army of shifters. They are stronger than an average Alpha."
No wonder I had trouble fighting with those rogues.
"I am feeling bad for Olivia and others like her, I have promised her that those rogues will be severely punished," I murmured.
"Your promise will be fulfilled, such a demented person doesn't deserve to live. The attack on Alphas was because he failed to breed these human girls."
He explained everything that was discussed in the Alpha meeting. I contemplated telling him about the prophecy. But decided otherwise. He already had many things on his plate to worry about, some obscure prophecy. Which might be just another superstition?
"Thanks to you, we can now find out the locations of these rogues and this Stuart guy. I will ask Damon to run a background check on all known rogues and anyone who fancied himself to be a scientist. This also means more security restrictions."
"Is it going to be as bad as before?" I asked.
"Worse," he said wryly.
"I understand," I said, in a subdued tone." Though, my girls will be disappointed. They were eagerly awaiting to go for movies, dates etc. etc.".
"Unfortunately, it can't be helped." He shrugged.
What do you think?
