Belinda rolled her eyes and climbed out of bed without a word, heading straight for the bathroom.

Lucas watched her go, feeling resigned, though a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

After getting ready, Belinda went downstairs, grabbed a quick breakfast, and headed to work.

Since Lucas had driven her home the night before, her own car was still parked at the hospital, so she drove Lucas’s car.
