Chapter 2465
The old man stroked his beard, chuckling as he turned to glance at the water tower behind him. "This magical tower appears by fate, Chosen One."
"By fate?"
Wilbur stared at the old man in confusion, who smiled. "Yes. It appears by fate, which you seem to share. If you can pass the tower's test, all your dangers in the dimension you're from may be cleared."
"Pass the magical tower's test? Are you saying I can save my dimension through the magical tower, Senior? How... how can that be?"
"No, no. It's not what you think it is. This magical tower is just a test of your powers, which you will pass if your power can overcome the threats your dimension is facing."
"I see. Can I please know your name, sir?" asked Wilbur.
"I'm Tenin."
"Hello, Senior Tenin."
Tenin then told Wilbur about the magical tower, and how pure chance was also a factor in the tower's appearance. Some dimensions were not worth saving, and thus the magical tower would not appear even if a chosen one from the dimension were to enter an arcane formation and cultivate for hundreds, or even thousands of years.
The chosen one of a dimension could only enter an arcane formation once in their lifetime and would not be able to re-enter it once they had left. The arcane formation was a floating dimension created by the guardians of all three levels of the dimensions.
They would leave a portal to the Arcane Formation to give each of the chosen ones a chance, and Wilbur was lucky enough to be that of his dimension.
Now that the magical tower had appeared, Wilbur's dimension was deemed to be worth saving. It was just up to him to see if he could pass the tower's tests.
Magical towers appeared by fate, and they varied in appearance based on the chosen one that would encounter them. Some towers only had two floors, and some had three, five, or seven. The highest number of floors was nine, and each floor was different. However, what appeared inside would all be based on people and experiences that the chosen one has encountered.
People and experiences from the lower dimensions would appear in a tower for the lower dimensions, as they would for the middle and upper dimensions as well.
Wilbur's magical tower had nine floors, which implied that his dimension was facing a great threat. However, Wilbur being from a lower dimension meant that he still had a shot at passing the tower's test.
If a cultivator from a middle or upper dimension was faced with a nine-storeyed magical tower, their success rate would be less than ten percent.
Wilbur heaved a breath of relief at the words. "What's my success rate then, Senior Tenin?"
He had thought that since he was from a lower dimension, he would have a success rate of at least fifty percent.
Yet reality was harsh, and Tenin stuck out two fingers. "You have a twenty percent chance, at most."noveldrama
"What? Twenty?"
Wilbur was shocked, but Tenin nodded.
"Yes, and that's in being optimistic. The lowest rate is ten percent. You're going to have to learn the ways of the tower on your own."
"I see. Can I enter the magical tower a little later, Senior Tenin? I'd like to cultivate more first."
"As you wish, but the energy aura in the magical tower is ten times what it is out here. You're free to cultivate out here if you want to, but..."
What do you think?
