Chapter 2501
Wilbur stared at Orkus wordlessly. Despite not knowing if Orkus was powerful enough to be a master, just watching him interact with his brother Orkot alone made him look a little evil and cunning.
"What are you thinking about?"
"What? Nothing."
"Alright."
Orkus put a hand on Wilbur's shoulder. "Since I'm your master now, let me start teaching you. It's impossible for someone from the Light World to harness energy from the Dark World unless they find a dimension rift where energies from both worlds somehow manage to connect. You must first understand the true meaning of darkness if you want to master dark energy. Tell me, Wilbur. What is there in darkness?"
Wilbur shook his head. "There's nothing in darkness at all."
"Well, that may be one way of seeing it. Remember this: there's also coldness, loneliness, and resentment. These are all elements that can help one bring out powerful dark energy."
Orkus stretched out his right hand, and a ball of dark energy appeared in the middle of his palm at once. It grew bigger and bigger before finally hurling the ball toward Wilbur.
"Master!" Wilbur shouted as the ball of dark energy melded into Wilbur like it was nothing.
Orkus said, "Wilbur, the best way to learn about dark energy is to immerse
yourself in it. This ball of dark energy is a gift from me to you. You may sit in it and meditate while you learn. You'll be able to come out of it once you understand the true meaning of darkness."noveldrama
"I—"
Wilbur was about to say something more, but Orkus barely wanted to listen. He cracked a yawn, stretching his body before heading into the hut for a nap.
With no other choice, Wilbur could only do as he was told and begin to meditate. Orkus' words replayed in his mind over and over again as Wilbur tried and failed completely to absorb the dark energy. It seemed to freeze over the second it even touched Wilbur.
It seemed like there was a huge difference between learning about something and truly comprehending it. Cultivation, at the end of the day, relied on hard work. Listening to someone tell you about it was next to useless.
Wilbur recomposed his thoughts, then tried again to understand the meaning of darkness. It took him two whole months before he was able to do so and absorb the dark energy. He then walked out of the ball Orkus had thrown him into.
"Master," Wilbur greeted.
Orkus' arms were crossed at his chest as he nodded. "Not bad. It seems like you've understood the meaning of darkness. You're only missing one thing now."
"What is it?"
"Once you've learned how to mold dark energy into real objects, you would've learned the very essence of darkness."
"What?"
What do you think?
