Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 2551

The black python turned to look at Wilbur, flicking its tail in his direction. Wilbur leaped out of the attack's way and was shocked to see the ground littered with bodies at once. The python could actually detect the energy shifts in his body.

Wilbur had used ninety percent of his spirit energy on casting the Dragon Spell to take the black python down, and he would have been unconscious already had it not been for the remaining ten percent of his spirit energy left in him.

The black python had just been pushed to the brink of death, but here it was attacking back now. It was clear that the python had sensed the shift in energy inside Wilbur's body, or it would never have done something like that.noveldrama

Amidst his shock, Wilbur shoved a Thunder-type Healing Pill into his mouth without hesitation. His strength recovered rapidly, and he raised the Azure Dragon Spear to hurl it toward the snake man below.

This time, the black python's scales could not protect itself as it was nearly drained of power, and the spear pierced through the python's body at once.

The azure dragon took shape, exploding inside the python's body. It disappeared into the air as the snake man's original form appeared with the spear through his chest. He was finally drained of all of his strength and fell to his knees before Wilbur.

"You bastard!" Wilbur shouted. "Your time's up!"

"Wait!"

The snake man's head snapped up to look at Wilbur. "I'll tell you the cultivation method I used just now, all of it. Please just give me a few more minutes to catch my breath."

Wilbur stared at the snake man, hesitating for a moment. Eventually, he put down the Azure Dragon Spear, and the snake man smiled. "That move was called the Mind Reader. It's a special mental attack spell that targets spirit energy. Every cultivation who can enter the middle dimensions will have to learn mental attack and defense spells, or they'd be killed way too easily in the middle dimensions."

"The Mind Reader?"

Wilbur had heard of mental attack and defense spells but knew little about them as there were hardly any lower-dimension cultivators who practiced them. The snake man's words gave him an epiphany.

"I see. That's why it's called the Mind Reader."

"Hahaha!"

The snake man threw his head back all of a sudden, letting out a peal of laughter that Wilbur frowned at. "What are you laughing at?"

"You, of course! All dragon clan cultivators are pretentious, all of you!" the snake man said. "You claim that you're all for good and righteousness, and everything you do is for the world, but that's so far from the truth! I just killed all the people of Leafy Village, a heinous act that should warrant me to be murdered on sight, but you kept me alive just for a cultivation method."

"Isn't that something worth laughing at?"

"Ha, you pretentious dragon clan cultivators! Your kindness is just a sham you use to fool people with. The truth is that deep down, you're far more evil than I could ever be."

"Hahaha!"

The snake man's laughter was positively piercing. Wilbur raised the Azure Dragon Spear without hesitation, driving it through the snake man's chest and killing him for good.

Wilbur looked up to see what Leafy Village had once been. It had been razed to the ground, all its innocent people painting the streets with their blood. All of that had happened because of him. If he had not been swayed and chose to kill the snake man off back within Emerald Mountain, the people of Leafy Village would have survived.

A single thought had cost the lives of an entire village. Was what the snake man said really true? Deep down, was Wilbur far more evil than the likes of them?

Wilbur took a deep breath, a dullness weighing down his chest as he turned to leave Leafy Village. Thoughts of his time here flooded his head as he walked. It had barely been half a month since he entered the Eternal Sunshine Dimension, and he had already caused the demise of hundreds of people.

Did all this really happen because of him?

Would those innocent people have lived if he had never shown up on the Eternal Sunshine Dimension?

Wilbur had slayed two Night Demons, but he did not feel the slightest bit pleased or triumphant. He was overwhelmed with guilt and returned to see the Nightless Elder to get some clarity on his emotions.

"What's the difference between the Eternal Sunshine Dimension and Earth, Nightless Elder? Are the people here different from those on Earth?"
