Wilbur blinked at Nightless Elder for a moment before saying, "You're right, Elder. All those villagers and townsfolk died because of me. It's all my fault, all of it." Despite the fact that the snake man and the Dark Lord had been the ones killing these people, Wilbur still played an undeniable role in their deaths.

Nightless Elder was now here to have Wilbur face the truth, who then let out a sigh as he watched the elder leave.

Every last bit of regret and hopelessness in Wilbur vanished as he said, "You're right, Nightless Elder. I, Wilbur Penn, owe my life to these innocent people. A real man owns up to his mistakes. These people died because of me, so I'm going to avenge their lives with my own."

The power of light expanded all of a sudden, enveloping Wilbur's body as his dragon aura was released in the form of a white dragon that flew around Wilbur. Just then, the Dark Lord's voice could be heard in his mind shouting, 'What are you doing, Wilbur Penn? I forbid you from dying! I don't want to die myself, watch it! So what if you killed a few villagers, huh? Nightless Elder is just trying to trick you into ending your life! Can't you see that?'

The Dark Lord's energy aura began to grow, making the seal on the right side of Wilbur's chest throb with pain. Wilbur gritted his teeth, rasping, "No. You're not calling the shots this time around."

Wilbur's willpower was channeled into the red dragon's head on his back. A fiery- red dragon appeared, flying around him in circles before diving right into his chest.

The combined power of the fire dragon and the seal held down the Dark Lord's energy aura completely. Following that, the white dragon let out a series of howls in the air as the Mountain God Temple began to rumble violently.

Wilbur looked at Nightless Elder one last time. "If you can, Nightless Elder, please help me tell those innocent villagers that I've harmed that I'm sorry. I'll be on my way now!"

Upon saying the words, Wilbur muttered a spell. The white dragon let out a howl of fury, charging toward Wilbur and crashing through his chest. A black figure flew out of his body, exploding in mid-air and dissolving into black miasma.

Nightless Elder turned around, glancing at Wilbur. He walked to the door of the temple, looking up at the sky. The dark clouds were beginning to clear up already, and the sun peeked through from behind.

A warm ray of sun beamed down on the entrance of the Mountain God Temple as Nightless Elder stroked his beard. "Very well. It seems like this child is a good cultivator, and the dragon clan shall have hope of restoring their reputation, after all."

Following that, he disappeared with a flash of white light.

The wound on Wilbur's chest began to heal as he was unconscious, slowly forming a scab. In his dream, Wilbur returned to Gemglass Village, the fishing village, Leafy Village, and finally Greenpeak Town. Everyone there was smiling at him, and warmth spread through his chest at the sight.

"Candy apples for sale! Come on, buy yourself a candy apple!"

It was unclear how long Wilbur was asleep, but he opened his eyes to the sight of a candy apple seller walking toward the Mountain God Temple. Wilbur rubbed his eyes blearily, sitting up from the ground. There was no more pain in the left side of his chest, and he looked down to see that the seal had somehow returned to its normal state.
