When they saw this, the two other patriarchs quickly followed Edmond's example.

As long as they could give their families a chance of survival, they felt that all was not lost.

Dustin watched this scene with a cold gaze.

Twenty years ago, these people had been cruel and merciless. Dustin had been the only member of the vast Fox family to escape.

The Fox family had been destroyed, and the whole family had nearly been wiped out.

Had these people been the least bit merciful back then? How dare they beg for mercy?

"How dare you beg me for mercy?" Dustin asked with a sneer.

"The Fox family used to be the top family of Grayvale. Now, they are all dead and gone, and I am the only one left. The lost souls of the Fox family have yet to be avenged! And yet, here you are, shamelessly begging for mercy!

"Why should I show you mercy? You have no right to ask me for mercy!" Dustin yelled in a rage. It made the three patriarchs go pale.

"I won't let anyone who was involved in the massacre of my family go free! Whether they are old or young, male or female, none of them will escape!" Dustin said chillingly. "All of you must pay the price!"

The three patriarchs looked hopeless.

"Arrest them all!" shouted Zach and pointed at the three families' men.

The police officers of Hattan showed up to obey Zach's orders.

The ashen-faced patriarchs were arrested as well.

Zach announced their sentence to the crowd.

They would be executed by a firing squad the next day.

The Four Great Clans of Hattan would officially become history.

Right then, the forces that had been monitoring the situation finally got news of what had happened.

"What? Three of the Four Great Clans have been eradicated?"

They were all in shock.

This was supposed to be the final showdown between those three families and Dustin. Yet, just as the battle reached a critical moment, the army had swarmed in and stunned everyone.

After that, news of the incident had been locked down. Any hints of what had happened were eliminated.

No one knew what had transpired at all.

Soon, the army dispersed, and the three families' men were all arrested. The

three patriarchs were executed by a firing squad.

"How could this be? How could things end up this way?"

No one could understand it.

They could not believe that the military had intervened in this matter and that the three families' men would all be punished.

The military released a statement saying that the private army of the three families was a danger to the public, and that was why it had been shut down.

Meanwhile, the government said that the three families had been committing grievous crimes for many years and had been punished accordingly.

"How come Dustin was unharmed? He's one of the main players of this whole incident."

The other forces looking in were all confused. There were too many suspicious elements to this incident.

The massacre of the Fox family by the Four Great Clans twenty years ago had been just as confusing. The police captain, Marcus Robinson, had been one of the accomplices as well, but the military never showed up to do anything about it back then.

How could an attempt at Dustin's elimination end up turning out this way? "Dustin is simply too lucky!"

Some people were very displeased that they did not get to see Dustin killed.

Dustin had nearly died at the hands of the three of the Four Great Clans, yet the tables had been so violently turned.

Hattan was really in for a great change.
