Chapter 128
Chapter 128:.
Even though Cherry, who was in Justin’s arms, had been forced to go through a ‘love exchange session’ known as a Math Olympiad lesson the night before, she was still very excited to be able to openly skip class today.
Her big, round eyes rolled as she looked around. In her young and tender voice, she asked, “Did Mommy make this for you, Daddy?”.noveldrama
Justin replied, “…. Yes, I think so.”
He coughed and asked, “If Miss Smith proposes to me later, should I accept or decline?”.
Cherry, “????”
She stared at her stinky dad with question marks on her head, thinking he must have left his IQ at home today.
Why would Mom do something as useless as this?
If she had time to prepare for all this, she’d certainly prefer to get some more sleep!
The corners of Cherry’s lips twitched as she replied, “You’re imagining things, Dad.”
As the wait staff walking past them finished speaking, the other wait staff corrected her and said, “Miss Smith is not the one who prepared it. It’s someone else who prepared it, because he plans to propose to her! You’ve got it backwards.
Unfortunately, Justin the Narcissist didn’t hear that.
As he passed a corner, he suddenly heard a commotion ahead. Then, he saw the woman surrounded by a group of people.
In the midst of all the taunts and ridicule being hurled at her, although she had a lazy look on her face, her back was straight as if she were a tree raised on a cliff.
Justin frowned. Just as he was about to move forward….

“Who says no one loves Miss Smith?”
Suddenly, a soft, sultry male voice rang through the place.
Nora suddenly looked behind her and saw a man dressed in a light gray suit standing a short distance away.
He had exquisite features and deep yet warm eyes. His lips were thin and he had a sharp nose.
He exuded a warm and comfortable aura like that of a spring breeze. As if he were a prince out of a fairy tale, he took step after step toward Nora until he reached her.
He stood shoulder to shoulder with Nora and said in a clear, pleasant voice, “This is the marriage settlement between Miss Smith and the Grays. With this, why would anyone say that the engagement has been annulled?”.
Everyone, “?”
Even Tina gasped.
“Who are you people?” She asked.
The corners of the man’s lips curved upward in a small smile as he replied, “I’m Caleb Gray.”
He glanced at Nora. The man’s eyelashes were very long and he had a slightly wistful look. He exuded a polite, down-to-earth air. He said, “Mrs. Smith, I’m Anthony’s uncle.”
Nora was even more confused.
What did Anthony Gray’s uncle have to do with her?
Then, she heard Caleb say in his soft, honeyed voice, “There are only two men in the Grays who aren’t married yet-Anthony and me. In principle, because of our ages, Anthony is the most suitable for you; after all, I am four years older than you. But since he is blind and cannot recognize a treasure for what it is worth, I will fulfill the marriage agreement in his place. This is the agreement; you can take a look at it.”
Caleb pulled out the marriage agreement that Nora’s mother had written when the two families had agreed on the children’s future marriage and showed it to her.
She had also had a copy of the marriage agreement.
However, she had torn it up when she returned to the United States and broke off the engagement. She thought Anthony would also do the same, but they had actually kept it….
Next, he looked at the contents of the agreement.
On the Smith side, it clearly stated that it was Nora’s marriage agreement.
However, on the Grays’ side, what was indicated was simply ‘a man of suitable age’.
In other words, it didn’t necessarily have to be Anthony!
Nora furrowed her eyebrows. The sudden appearance of a fiancé was indeed very problematic….
But here the question arose again: why were the Greys so insistent on honoring the marriage agreement with her? It wasn’t enough that Anthony was leaving, so now they were sending Caleb?
Besides, it was obvious that Caleb was far more reliable than that idiot Anthony.
As Nora worried about this, Tina, who was standing in the distance, breathed a sigh of relief!
Precisely because she feared that Nora and Justin would become entangled, she had goaded Winston into courting Nora in the first place. However, if she had a fiancé? Wouldn’t that be great?
Wasn’t her fiancé a little too handsome?
Not only did he seem kind, thoughtful and elegant, but his eyes were deep and innocent. It made one wish to care for him and protect him, also that she didn’t have the heart to betray him….
Tina couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Gray, are you aware that you have a daughter?”
“I am.” Caleb said unhurriedly, “For Nora’s sake, I’m willing to accept her and love her as my own. It’s all right as long as Nora doesn’t resent me for breaking off the engagement at the beginning.”
All, “!!!”
That man was not only handsome, he was deeply in love with Nora!
Caleb looked directly at Winston after speaking. He said, “So, is this gentleman here going to keep forcing my fiancée to marry him?”.
The word ‘force’ made Winston feel a little embarrassed.
However, the Prism Club was an establishment run by the Imperial Corporation, so no one dared make trouble.
Winston let out a cold snort. Although he was quite displeased, he turned around, waved his hand and left with his tail between his legs, along with his friends.
As they left, Caleb suggested, “Why don’t we find someplace to have a good talk, Miss Smith?”
Nora certainly needed to have a good talk with him, about how they should cancel the marriage agreement.
With that in mind, a concerned Nora nodded.
In the distance.
Justin was already making a long face.
He looked down at his daughter in his arms, expecting her to put in a good word for him. Instead, however, she saw a starry-eyed Cherry staring at Caleb. With a look of crush on her face, she said, “Daddy, that young man over there is so handsome!”.
Justin, “?”
He asked solemnly, “Do you like him?”
Cherry nodded. “Oh, yes, his eyelashes are so long! Besides, Mom likes people who are like obedient puppies!”
“…”
She suddenly felt the urge to throw the little girl to the ground!
But what could she do?
Since she was his daughter, he could only pamper and adore her.
He took a deep breath and suddenly stepped forward.
Nora was about to find a place to ask Caleb about the marriage settlement when she turned and saw Justin approaching with Cherry in his arms.
She immediately stood still and called out, “Mr. Hunt?”
Then, she looked down at her daughter in her arms and said, “… Pete?”.
Cherry, “…”
Justin looked down and asked, “Miss Smith, don’t you want to know why I hate the mother of my child so much?”.
Nora, “?????”
Caleb looked relatively innocent. The Grays were also not as powerful as the Hunts. However, even standing in front of Justin, who had unleashed his full imposing aura, he surprisingly didn’t seem overshadowed.
He looked down and said softly, “You can mind your own business first if you’re busy, Miss Smith. I can go see the Andersons and discuss the details of the marriage settlement with Mrs. Anderson instead. You’re of age now, so it’s time for us to get married soon.”
Nora, “!!!”
She looked at Justin and then at Caleb.
The bold and determined woman quickly made a decision. “Mr. Gray, please wait a moment for me.”
Then, she looked at Justin and said, “Mr. Hunt, let’s talk first!”.
The children always came first!
