Chapter 192
Chapter 192:
Jimmy stood thinking for a while. His head still hurt a little, but when he thought about the discomfort he’d felt when they were checking his stomach just now to find out why he’d thrown up, he went blank for a moment. Then he shook his head and replied, “It doesn’t hurt anymore, Mom.”
Jimmy’s mother let out an instant sigh of relief.
The woman, who had been quite nervous at heart, finally calmed down. She said, “It’s okay as long as it doesn’t hurt anymore. Your partner’s mother doesn’t seem like a nice person. I bet she doesn’t even have a doctor’s license, does she? Yet she keeps talking nonsense. It serves them right that their daughter can no longer attend classes in the garden.”
After saying that, he bent down, picked up Jimmy and went home.noveldrama

Some gym.
Jordan found all of Cherry’s information in no time. He frowned as he looked at Nora’s name in the field where the girl’s mother’s name was listed, and asked his subordinate, “Doesn’t she have a father? I don’t hit women.”
The man replied, “No, she doesn’t.”
Jordan was silent for a moment. Then he let out an “hmph” and said, “People who can send their children to that kindergarten are not from normal families either. Find out what family they belong to. If they are ordinary people… Inform my wife to stop it, lest they say we’re using our power to bully them!”
“Alright.”
After his subordinate left, someone came in and said, “Mr. Hoffman, that Anderson boy is here again.”
Jordan’s expression immediately turned cold. “Does he really have the guts to come again, Tsk! Let him in.”
At the door.
A limping Logan stood there with downcast eyes. The dark basement was dim and cluttered. The young man with an indomitable look on his countenance stuck out like a sore thumb in the noisy atmosphere.
He waited for someone to call his name before finally stepping forward and limping into the room.
After entering, Logan immediately lowered his head and said, “Mr. Hoffman.”
Jordan let out an icy snort and said, “Our sports book is no joke.”
Logan kept his gaze down.

His car races were not real competitions. The betting and gambling were all clandestine transactions. The auto racing sports book operated solely on Jordan’s name as collateral.
All the money Logan had earned over the years came from them.
He had always been the best car racer in New York.
A large number of wealthy people placed their bets there whenever they wanted to bet on car races.
However, Logan moved his weak, limping foot, then said, “The next race is in three days, but I’m afraid my foot won’t recover in time for it.”
“What’s that got to do with me?” Jordan got off the gym equipment and walked over. He grabbed a bottle of ice water, unscrewed the cap and gulped it all down in one gulp.
Logan wiggled his foot again. He said, “I will definitely lose if I participate in the race. I’m sure the players would be very upset, so I’d like to ask Mr. Hoffman to help me postpone the race for a month so I can have surgery and recover.”
Jordan scoffed. “As they say, bone fractures and muscle tears take a hundred days to heal. Are you sure you’ll be fine in just a month?”
“Yes, I am.” Logan gritted his teeth and said, “Even if I’m not, I can still participate in the race.”
Jordan said, “You should have known by now when you first came here that no one can change their bets at our bookmaker. For runners like you, their bodies are also a kind of bet, And yet you have the audacity to allow yourself to get hurt? You lost the last race, didn’t you? I heard you even sold your sports car, Are the Andersons unable to shell out that kind of money?”.
Logan stubbornly said, “I will answer for my own actions. The Andersons and I are separate entities.”
Jordan stood up and said, “Fine! I admire young people like you! Okay, I, Jordan, will help you this time and I will personally approach the players to explain the situation. I’m sure they will relent because of it.”
Logan breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you!”
Logan had only managed to pay for the huge losses from the last race by selling his sports car. If he lost again, the bookmakers who had seen potential in him, as well as the people who had bet millions of dollars on him, would probably kill him.
At that moment, someone suddenly stepped forward and said, “I’ve found the information, Mr. Hoffman.”
The man handed Jordan his cell phone with Nora’s profile on the screen. His eyes widened when he saw the word “Anderson.”
He let out a cold laugh and handed the cell phone back to his subordinate. Then he suddenly lashed out at Logan and said, “I take my words back.”
Logan, who was about to walk away, was perplexed.
His eyes snapped open and he looked back at him.
Everyone in the underworld was afraid of Jordan. They found him rude and unreasonable, but truth be told, after interacting with him for some time, Logan felt that he was actually a fair and loyal man. He was just a little protective of his own.
He was only unreasonable when it came to people he considered his own.
That was why he had approached her for help.
He asked hesitantly, “Mr. Hoffman?”
Jordan asked, “What is Nora Smith’s relationship to you?”
Logan clenched his jaw and replied, “She’s my cousin.”
“Oh.” Jordan said bluntly, “She has offended me. To be more precise, your daughter bullied my son. Therefore, I won’t help him anymore.”
Logan was puzzled.
He wanted to say something, but Jordan instead gestured and ordered, “Get out.”
Some of Jordan’s men immediately headed toward Logan.
He would be doing him a favor by helping him out, but he was under no obligation to do so.
Logan didn’t antagonize him just because he suddenly decided not to help him. Instead, he nodded his head, turned and walked out of the room without needing anyone to pull him out.
When he reached the door, he heard Jordan in the background slowly say, “Don’t take it to heart. You’ve scared my son so much that he threw up. After all, I have to vent my frustrations somewhere. If I don’t take them out on you, that woman named Nora Smith will have to suffer my wrath instead. Of course, you can choose to let my wife beat her to vent her anger, or choose to accept this situation.”
Logan clenched his fists.
Jordan looked at the investigation report. He said, “Judging by the results of my investigation, you’re probably not that friendly with her. You’re in a pretty miserable situation right now: if you lose the next race, not only will you lose everything you have, but the bookies who will take big losses probably won’t let you out either. By my calculations, unless you shell out $50 million to pay them back, you won’t be able to appease their wrath. The Andersons probably won’t be able to repay a debt like that.”
Logan immediately said, “I already told you, Mr. Hoffman. The Andersons and I are separate entities.”
Jordan took a seat nonchalantly. His muscles trembled a little and his voice was rough as he said, “That may work with me, but do you think it will work with the others when you’re an Anderson as well?”
Logan frowned.
Underworld gambling doesn’t work by the usual rules.
Jordan went on and asked, “Remember that black market boxing champ from three years ago? He disappeared after losing a fight. Do you know where he is now?
He died after someone secretly beat him up. His body was thrown into the sewer and eaten by rats after he died. Moreover, those people even went to his house. It is said that his wife and children are begging on the streets even now.”
Logan clenched his fists.
Jordan smiled and said, “Of course, this won’t happen if you get your foot injury healed in three days, or if you find a runner even more skilled than you to help you win the race.
“However, such a runner doesn’t seem to exist in the United States. As for the international scene, Yanci is the only one who can do it.”
As the two conversed, Jimmy’s mother approached him.
As soon as they entered the gym, the hot, stuffy atmosphere of the room made Jimmy’s head ache, as if great tides were churning in it.
