Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 229

Lynn had put the phone on speaker. As soon as she heard that Brad wasn't coming over tonight, her face fell.

She gave Jean, who had been looking at her with anticipation, a look of dismay. What should they do now?

Jean met her gaze, but she was also at a loss. Brad had rushed over as soon as he heard that she wasn't feeling well yesterday. How did things change overnight?

That bitch, Nadine, must've been scheming!

She wouldn't allow Nadine to keep Brad by her side. She gave Lynn a look, and then she began coughing loudly with a hand over her mouth. Worried that Brad might not hear her, she sidled closer to the phone.

Lynn immediately caught on to her intentions and made sure that Brad could hear her clearly.

"Ms. Sawyer, how are you feeling? Are you okay? I'll get the doctor now," she said, sounding concerned.

"Mr. Hamilton, you should come quickly. Ms. Sawyer's literally hacking her lungs out and is almost out of breath. She also looks very ill.

"Oh no, Mr. Hamilton! Ms. Sawyer fainted!

"Ms. Sawyer, wake up! Where's the doctor?"

As soon as Lynn ended her act, she hung up promptly. Once she ensured that Brad could no longer hear them, she exchanged a smile with Jean.

"Ms. Sawyer, how was my acting?"

Jean gave her a thumbs-up and praised her genuinely. "You did a great job! It's worth keeping you around for your care.

"But now, you've got to obtain a pill for me from the doctor. Only then I can faint properly when Brad arrives!" With that, Lynn nodded and went out.

Glancing at her phone, Jean snickered and said, "Nadine, you can't outsmart me!"

Brad was worried after the call ended abruptly. He immediately called Jean's attending doctor and instructed him to notify him if Jean's condition was severe.

Then, he went to the second floor. To be honest, he had wanted to be by Jean's side at the hospital after he received the call from Lynn. But upon remembering Nadine, who was alone and unattended, he held himself back.

Brad hadn't realized that hist

had been disobedient. After

discovering this issue, he'd replaced them with more dutiful maids. Still, he wasn't fully reassured.

After all, things wouldn't have ended up like this if they had respected Nadine over the past six years.

Setting his phone aside, Brad sighed and approached her bedside. Only a lamp was lit, illuminating the room with its soft glow.noveldrama

He could only see Nadine's silhouette instead of her face. She lay with her back to him, her breathing softly and lightly in deep slumber.

Once he stood next to her bed, he realized that she had vomited. A puddle of nauseating mess stained the carpet, and its stench was making him feel sick.

He quickly opened the window and ordered the maids to clean up. As fresh air wafted in, the stench in the room dissipated. Once again, the air became fresh.

After the maids cleaned the mess on the floor and changed the carpet, Brad signaled for them to leave. He finally sat by the bed once they were all gone.

Stroking Nadine's pale face, he

realized her complexion was terrifyingly ashen and cold to the touch, He warmed his hands and placed them on her face, attempting to warm her up a bit.

But then, he heard her murmuring, "Jack..."
