Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1856

When Harold asked his question, Colby did something unexpected-he cracked a rare smile.

He'd moved on long ago, though remnants of the past still lingered in his mind.

"So, how was it?" William asked eagerly, "And what about the visuals? Spill the details! What did you see? Did it really look like real life? Did you dream about the past?"

William fired off questions like a machine gun.

"I'll share my thoughts later. Right now, I've got more pressing matters."

"More pressing?" William blinked in surprise. "What's more pressing than your wife?"

"Getting breakfast for her."

And with that, Colby walked straight out of the lab.

"Hey, don't go!" William called after him, trying to get him to stay.

But Colby didn't even glance back.

"Twenty years of hard work, and he can't even leave a review!" William muttered, staring at the half-empty potion bottle in his hand. He then shot a mischievous grin at Harold. "Mr. Aldridge, want to give it a whirl?"

Harold shrugged, "Not interested."

"Come on, don't leave! This stuff's legit, even Colby liked it!" William insisted,

giving Harold a serious look. "Beta testers get a free pass."

Meanwhile, Colby returned home and found Sophie still wrapped in sleep. A soft smile crept onto his face.

Maybe in that dream, Sophie didn't love him. But that didn't matter.

Colby gently brushed his fingers across Sophie's cheek.

As long as they were husband and wife, as long as their love endured, that was all that mattered.

That night, Colby drifted off holding her close.

The next morning, as usual, Colby swung by the bakery to pick up Sophie's favorite croissants. Then, like any regular husband, he O delivered breakfast to his wife.

"Colby, I think I had a dream last night," Sophie said, her eyes meeting his. "I dreamed of you as a kid."

"Oh?"

"I saw little you trying to say hi, but

Colby chuckled and gently tapped Sophie's nose. "My wife, always up to mischief, even with the younger me."

Sophie raised an eyebrow. "That's because you don't let me tease you anymore."

"Oh, come on now, when have I ever

her hand. "You're the only one

who

can tease me, the only one who

dares."

“So agreeable? Did you do something in the dream you feel guilty about?" Sophie teased.

"If there's anything, it's that I once let you slip away."

"Colby, it feels like ages since we've gone out together."

"Yeah, ever since Fiona was born, we haven't had the chance."noveldrama

"I just had a brilliant idea."

"Oh?"

"Your suggestion of sending Fiona to stay with Adler and Jenna... I think it's brilliant!"

Seeing Sophie's determined eyes, Colby pretended to mull it over. "It is a great idea."

"When should we book the tickets?"

"Right now."

And true to his word, that evening, Colby booked their tickets for a getaway abroad.
