Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1207

Chapter 1207:

She took a closer look, and a spark of recognition ignited—the man looked vaguely familiar. After a moment’s thought, Eileen’s eyes widened as she placed him. It was Colby, Presley’s husband.

“Mrs. Dawson, what a delightful coincidence! Are you dining here as well?” Colby asked, flashing a smile he believed was charming.

To Eileen, however, his smile only appeared smarmy and insincere. “This is the ground floor of the EB Group’s office building, and this restaurant is one of the company’s own establishments,” she replied, her tone flat. “So, it is natural for me to dine here.”

“Well, I really don’t know,” Colby said, feigning ignorance. “I just got back to the country. I don’t even know where the EB Group is located.”

Eileen’s expression turned icy as she said, “You’re standing on land owned by the EB Group, and the building above us belongs to the company too. Let me remind you that not only do I own this company, I also own the Apex Group and the former Warren Group. That means that about eighty percent of the places you can reach outside of the Deleon Group’s territory are mine. So, don’t play dumb in the future. If you have something to say, just say it.”

Eileen had no patience for beating around the bush.

When the waiter arrived with her food, she didn’t hesitate to dig in, ignoring Colby’s presence. Her hunger was overwhelming; she had skipped breakfast, and her stomach was growling with discontent.

“I must say, I admire your forthrightness,” Colby said with a smile. “I’d like to discuss the matter of your husband and my wife with you.”

Eileen’s expression turned guarded as she set down her fork and dabbed at her mouth with a napkin. “Mr. Deleon, feel free to discuss your wife if you wish, but as for my husband, there is nothing to discuss.”

Colby cracked his knuckles on the table, saying, “One person can’t accomplish this alone. After all, it takes two hands to make a sound.”

“Are you sure?” Eileen asked, her voice dripping with disdain. She sprang to her feet, her hand raised as if to strike Colby across the face.noveldrama

Colby recoiled, dodging the anticipated blow, but Eileen didn’t intend to follow through. Her palm halted mere inches from Colby’s face. Her eyes locked on his. “I can make a sound with only one hand.”

Colby shielded his face instinctively, asking, “So, you believe there is nothing between them?”

“I trust my husband,” Eileen replied firmly. With that, she sat back down and resumed eating.

Eileen had a hunch about Colby’s true intentions. She suspected he had been informed of Presley’s suggestive comments the previous day.

“They met in college, during your first love awakening,” Colby said, trying to sway Eileen. “You’re aware that men often have a first-love complex, aren’t you?” Colby attempted to persuade Eileen that there was indeed something between Bryan and Presley.

Eileen paused for a moment before responding, “Actually, Bryan’s first love awakening wasn’t in college, but after we got married.”

Reflecting on how Bryan had pursued her, Eileen believed he must have never been in a relationship before that.
