Just as Amoura was about to respond, Eileen quickly added, “Are you concerned I’d discuss the Roseair project with Schultz? You didn’t let me approach him and had your daughter-in-law stop me, didn’t you?”

Amoura believed some things should not be aired in public, even if everyone was well aware of them. She thought Eileen could always see through her.

Thinking Eileen was upset, Gerry quickly said, “That’s not what I meant. You’ve handled many projects like the Roseair project, and your ample funding supports me. I just spoke offhand—”

Seeing him rush to clarify, Eileen couldn’t help but laugh. “Mr. Schultz, who do you think I am? I’m not so petty, and I don’t get upset easily. What I mean is, let’s sign the contract right now.”
