Chapter 1240
Chapter 1240:
However, that didn’t mean someone should knowingly throw themselves at a married man!
“Why don’t I have that kind of charm?” Eileen muttered. Even now, after marriage and having a child, she maintained a great figure and delicate features that made her look like she was still in her early twenties. Before she had gotten married, she had had her fair share of admirers, too.
However, after she had gotten married, those admirers had all disappeared.
“You don’t need that kind of charm,” Bryan said, raising an eyebrow as he patted the spot on the bed next to him.
Just as Eileen was about to slide over, a sudden wave of nausea hit her. Clutching her stomach, she dashed barefoot to the bathroom and vomited.
Despite having eaten plenty today, Eileen only managed to bring up a bit of sour bile after retching for what felt like ages. A light sheen of sweat covered her back, causing her pajamas to cling to her skin, while droplets formed at the tip of her nose.noveldrama
Bryan handed Eileen a glass of warm water, his eyes narrowing as he glanced at her stomach. “Have you been eating irregularly again? Is your stomach acting up?”
“No,” Eileen replied with a sincere expression. “I’ve been eating and sleeping on schedule.”
However, when she thought about it for a moment, she realized her period seemed to be late. A troubling thought flashed through her mind. She hurriedly pushed Bryan aside and reached for the drawer where they kept the condoms. Had these things failed?
Bryan, too, thought of the same thing.
“I’ll get checked in a few days,” Eileen said, her brow furrowed. She had just taken charge of the Roseair project from the Deleon Group, and the workload ahead was going to be overwhelming.

If this situation weren’t happening to her, she might have doubted her own faithfulness. After all, Bryan and she had been using protection consistently.
“I’ll accompany you then,” Bryan said, his frown deepening as his mind wandered back to that night at the Dawson Mansion.
He hadn’t thought that just one time could lead to this… Noticing that Eileen hadn’t pieced it together yet, Bryan decided not to bring up the matter. He said, “Don’t overthink it. You’ve probably just been under a lot of stress.”
Eileen blinked. That was actually true. She had been under an immense amount of pressure lately.
Eileen stood up and climbed into bed, her long hair fanning out over the pillow. Bryan took a quick look at Eileen before switching off the light. He tried to convince himself that it wasn’t entirely his fault for giving in to temptation that night at the Dawson Mansion—she had been irresistible.
He silently continued to justify his actions in his mind. Eileen knew that pregnancy was a significant thing for her. She had expected to struggle with insomnia tonight, but instead, she drifted off as soon as her head hit the pillow. The next morning, she didn’t stir until the alarm blared. Rushing out of bed, she quickly washed up, changed into fresh clothes, and rushed downstairs.
The moment she stepped into the kitchen, her eyes immediately caught sight of Bryan.
