Shunned By An Alpha, Cherised By A Lycan

Chapter 240

Chapter 240:

Jason was beside her, his hand gripping her chin, his lips curled into a sickening smile. His teeth were poised just above her neck, ready to seal his claim.

Something in me snapped. The fucking nerve of him to touch what’s mine.

A roar erupted from my throat, primal and raw. I crossed the room in a blink, yanking him away from her with enough force to send him crashing into the wall. He crumpled, but I didn’t care. I turned back to Jasmine, my hands trembling as I gently brushed the hair away from her face.

Her eyes fluttered open, dazed and glassy.

“Ryder?” Her voice was a broken whisper, filled with disbelief and pain. I swallowed hard, fighting the lump in my throat. “I’m here, Jasmine. I’m so sorry. I’m here.”

A single tear traced down her cheek. “I thought… I thought you wouldn’t come.”

The words shattered me. I cupped her face, my thumbs wiping away her tears even as my own threatened to fall. “I will always come for you. Always.”

But there was no time to lose. I worked quickly, snapping the chains one by one, my fingers brushing over her raw, bruised skin. Each mark was a brand of my failure, each bruise a reminder of what she’d endured because I hadn’t been fast enough.

She slumped forward, and I caught her, pulling her gently into my arms. She felt too light, too fragile, her body trembling with weakness. The scent of Veilroot clung to her, a cruel reminder of the poison coursing through her veins.

Jason groaned behind me, and Ace snarled, demanding blood. But Jasmine’s fragile form in my arms anchored me. Vengeance could wait. Saving her could not.

Enzo burst into the room, his eyes wild. His gaze landed on Jasmine, and for a moment, everything else faded. His face twisted with a mixture of shock, recognition, and fury.

“She’s really…” His voice broke off.

I nodded, my jaw tight. “Help me get her out of here.”

He hesitated, but only for a moment. He stepped forward, his expression hardening into resolve. “Let’s end this.”

We moved together, Kade guarding our backs. Jason, still dazed, tried to rise, but Enzo delivered a swift kick that sent him sprawling again. He didn’t get up.

The hallway was chaos, Silverclaw wolves falling under the relentless assault of the Viper pack. We pushed forward, Jasmine’s head resting against my chest, her shallow breaths a constant reminder of how close I was to losing her.

We burst into the night air, the cold wind biting at my face. I tightened my grip on Jasmine, my heart pounding. We were almost there. Almost safe.

Luna Anna’s voice sliced through the chaos, cold and sharp. “Leaving so soon, Ryder?”

I turned slowly, fury boiling in my veins. She stood at the edge of the clearing, flanked by her remaining warriors. Her eyes glinted with malice, a cruel smile twisting her lips.

“You won’t take her from me,” she hissed. “She belongs to me.”

I gritted my teeth. You know that feeling where you hate someone with such passion, but they still don’t know how to maintain their boundaries? I felt the urge to rip her head off. Ace’s snarl ripped through me. “She was never yours.”

Luna Anna laughed, the sound brittle. “We’ll see about that.” Her wolves lunged forward.

I handed Jasmine to Kade, my voice low and dangerous. “Get her out of here.”

Kade nodded, his arms tightening around her. I turned to face Luna Anna, the weight of my fury settling in my bones. She had taken everything from me. From Jasmine.

And now, I was going to end this. Once and for all.
