Chapter 819
"Yvie, we knew you'd win! You've made all of Croedal proud!"noveldrama
Yvette smiled at them, her lips curving in a gentle expression. "This championship is the result of all our hard work. We wouldn't be here today if it weren't for your victories in the previous rounds."
Madison and the others understood that Yvette was crediting them for their contributions, and they felt incredibly warmed by this. They had already learned so much from her. Now, Yvette was sharing the glory with them.
"You guys head back to Jubilife without me. I still have some things to take care of here for the next few more days."
Madison and the others immediately agreed, nodding enthusiastically. "Alright, Yvie. We'll do as you say!"
Just as Yvette watched them leave, she heard Frank's voice from behind.
"Vern, we haven't seen each other in so long. It's a rare opportunity today. I've just written a new academic paper, and I would love your guidance!"
Yvette's expression shifted slightly, immediately giving Jordan a subtle signal.
She had to escape quickly, or else Frank would be on her tail like a persistent shadow. His ability to pester people was on par with Barnabus'. Thus, she needed to move fast.
Before Jordan could react, Yvette was already gone. He blinked, then quickly followed after her.
"Ms. Murray, wait for me!"
By the time Yvette reached the entrance, Wilson was already waiting for her, obediently standing at the door as instructed.
When Jordan saw him, he immediately approached with enthusiasm.
"Ah, you must be Ms. Murray's uncle. You're so young! It must be amazing to have such an outstanding niece like Yvette!"
The distinguished man before him exuded a presence of power and maturity, making Jordan
immediately think that he couldn't be
since he was too young. So, it only made sense that he was her uncle.
Yvette's older brother or fate
"Wait, what? Uncle?"
The man's handsome face darkened in an instant, his expression turning so grim that it seemed to absorb all the light in the room. He spoke in a low, dangerous tone.
"Yvie, is this how you introduce me to others?"
Hearing Jordan's words, Yvette couldn't hold back her laughter. She flashed a playful smile and innocently fluttered her long lashes at him.
"That's not what I told him!"
Jordan scratched his head in confusion, his mind racing with a bold thought. "Is this guy not Ms. Murray's uncle? Could he be her father, then?"
"Sorry, I must have misunderstood! You must be Ms. Murray's father! You look so young, I didn't realize... You really take good care of yourself!"
But as soon as Jordan finished speaking, Wilson's face darkened even further, and the temperature around them seemed to drop sharply as if they had entered an ice chamber, the cold biting.
Yvette couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing. Even Samuel, standing by her side, couldn't suppress his chuckles, bowing his head to stifle the laughter.
Age was a sore spot for Wilson, and Jordan had unwittingly triggered him.
Overwhelmed by Wilson's imposing presence, Jordan couldn't help but shudder, a rare sense of fear creeping into his heart.
Had he said something wrong? Why had this otherwise composed and dignified man suddenly become so intimidating?
"With eyes like that, you should see a doctor." Wilson's piercing gaze landed on Jordan, chilling the latter to the bone. Then, without warning, he pulled Yvette into his arms. His large, defined hand gripped her waist tightly.
"Ungrateful little thing, you're still laughing!"
What do you think?
