Book 4 Chapter 1.
Wild Child POV.
I never quite understood all the hurrah when it came to babies and kids. I mean, come on, if you want something that whines and cries, shits, eats, sleeps and dribbles, then get a dog. Well, that was before I held this little miracle in my arms.
She is so tiny, so perfect, soft. She is the perfect combination of both my little sister Harmony and her husband, Mav.
Little Faith, with her blonde tuft of hair and those honey-silver eyes. The way her tiny hand grabs my index finger as she looks up at me from the safety of my arms.
Only hours old, I feel something inside of me crack and fall away. I want this. I want to be the proud daddy of a child that is fifty percent me. I would love to feel this feeling again. I'm overwhelmed as I look at Faith. The tears blur my eyes and I know I want a family of my own.noveldrama
That I know now what has been missing for a while now. I want my own family, but in order for me to have what Harmony and my parents have, I need to find the perfect woman for me.
Well, I say need to find her. I think I already have. She is not part of the MC or mafia world. She is new to the area. I saw her a month ago when she walked into the bar looking for work.
Not the club's bar, but Harmony's bar. The Secret Cupboard. She is beautiful. Long black hair with neon blue and purple streaks. Nose ring and tattoos, she has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen, clear crystal blue. Her name is Sophie. You wouldn't think she was a Sophie with the way she looks, but then again I don't look like a Harry. Sophie and I became friends. She is guarded and I know she is running from something.
"Harry, are you ok?" Harmony asks and I smile at my little sister and nod my head as I lift little Faith and kiss her forehead, breathing in her baby smell. She is just so precious.
She is my blood and I know I will protect her like I do for Harmony and Melly. I hate to admit it, but I love the kids, even the tiny terrors that are Johnny and James. But hey this is my family.
"Congratulations again, she is simply beautiful." I hand Faith back to Harmony, who is watching me. Trying to figure out what is wrong with me. I may look like a hardass, but inside I'm soft and want to be loved like the next person.
I won't lie. I have had my fair share of women over the years, but none of them I ever wanted to make my ole lady. Not like Sophie. Fuck, did I just think that? I did, and I smile at the thought of that beautiful woman wearing my patch.
"I need to head out. I will be back tomorrow. Rest, sis, you did good. She is beautiful." I say as I kiss Harmony on her forehead and shake Mav's hand before I kiss my momma and hug my dad's before picking up Melly and kissing her cheek.
"Love you all." I say with a wink as I walk out of the room. The entire club is here, and I nod as I walk past them all and head outside.
Just as I make my way towards my bike, I see a woman on a stretcher being wheeled past me. I do a double take and my eyes widen. Sophie.
I run in after the EMTS as the doctors give their orders and Sophie looks at me. Her face is a bloody and bruised mess. I see the tears forming in her crystal blues. She looks away before she disappears behind the door.
Who did that to her? Is it the reason she moved here? Who in their right mind would hurt her? I don't have time to wait so I stroll into the room like I own the place and see her on a bed as the doctors check her over. My eyes are not leaving hers.
"Fracture to the eye socket, bruised ribs and stomach. Blow to the head." I see fucking red as the doctor lists off his findings as Sophie's eyes stay on mine and she groans and sobs in pain. I'm moving before I realise what is happening.
"Sophie." I whisper as I watch her rection. It is one of relief. Then it quickly changes to shame.
"Harry, you can't be back here. Do you know this young woman?" Doc asks and I nod my head.
"She is new to town. She works in Harmony's bar. What happened? Who did this to her?" I ask, my voice comes out as a growl and my hands ball into fists.
"I can't discuss this with you. I'm sorry Harry. Please give me the room I need to work on her." I look from him to Sophie and she looks away in embarrassment as a lone tear leaves her eye, trickling down the blood on her face, leaving a clear path.
"He ... He can stay." Both me and doc look at Sophie and doc sighs and nods his head.
"Ok miss Sophie, Harry I need you to wait over there. Please don't make my job harder." Doc says and I nod with a gulp. Gulping down the burning rage that threatens to spill from my mouth. I step back, keeping my eyes on Sophie's battered form.
I will find who did this to her and make them pay. I wait and watch for what seems like hours every cry. Every scream and whimper coming from her fuels the rage that is burning brighter as I watch her.
The doctor and nurse finish up. Doc turns to me and gives me a nod. He walks to me and pats my shoulder.
"She needs to rest, Harry. Sophie has been through the ringer. Give her some time." He says and I nod as I step around him and walk towards the bed.
I sit down and twist my hands together as I look at her.
"Sophie, Soph. look at me, sweetheart." I say as she turns her head to look at me. Her bottom lip quivers and I memorise every injury to her face and body.
"Harry, why ... Are you here?" Her voice is raspy and choked and I reach for her hand, but she doesn't pull away. I feel a jolt of electricity as I hold her hand, my thumb rubbing gently along her bruised knuckles. She at least got a hit in, it would seem. Sophie is a fighter, a born scrapper.
"Harmony had her daughter today. I was just leaving to come and see you, actually. When I saw you. Sophie, I know we have only known each other a short time, but I would like to think I am your friend. You are in my town and we protect our own. Who did this to you?" I say to her as softly as I can and she shakes her head and turns her head away from me.
"It... doesn't matter. I will move again. I won't bring trouble to your town. Once I leave here, I will go. I'm sorry for bringing my problems with me." She is so quiet, but I heard every word. My chest tightens at her words and I suck in a deep breath like I have been sucker punched.
"No, you are under my protection. You won't be leaving, not now, not ever. Let me help you." I say to her and she turns her head to look at me and I see the tears shining in her crystal blues as they fall.
My heart breaks for her, and she shakes her head.
"I'm more trouble than I am worth. You don't need my problems. I can handle it on my own. I'm sorry." She removes her hand from my grip and turns away from me, curling her legs up, giving me her back. She sobs quietly with a groan.
I reach out to touch her but pull my hand back as I swallow the lump in my throat.
I will find who did this to her and make the sorry sack of shit pay. Sophie doesn't realise it yet, but she is mine and no one touches what is mine.
What do you think?
