Since the daughter of the mineral water company's boss had spoken up, they felt more confident.

Seeing the strange man step forward to help, she thought he was just another lover Emily had seduced. Her face darkened with anger, and she pointed a finger at Patrick's eye.

"Who are you? How much did Emily pay you? Was it her body or money?" Scarlett's words were so sharp and cutting that they left no room for defense. "Mrs. Smith, how can you say that? I'm Michael's friend!" Patrick was indignant. Even though she was Michael's mother, he couldn't tolerate such insults.
