Chapter 686 Noisy
Theodore seemed to sense Patrick's love for him. He obediently drank the warm water Patrick offered, his tiny fingers soft and delicate. Throughout, he cooperated sweetly, letting Patrick hold him without fuss.
Vera signaled to Cindy, "Cindy, look at my husband."
Cindy glanced over and smiled, "Patrick's really taken to being a dad. He loves that baby so much."
Susan was the same way; wherever Theodore was, she was right there beside him. Randall had been sleep-deprived lately, heading straight to his room to sleep as soon as he got home. Cindy knew Randall was gradually taking on the responsibilities of the head of the family, assuming he was exhausted, so she instructed the servants not to disturb him.
Vera was curious about her best friend, and they met unexpectedly. "Molly, what brings you back?"
Molly replied, "I missed Dad. I plan to go to the office early and spend more time with him these days."
Vera glanced in Sebastian's direction, nodded, and sat down next to Patrick.
Molly didn't plan to leave. Sebastian came by, only to see Molly sulking slightly. As the sky darkened, he prepared to leave.
Shawn tried to stop Sebastian, "Why are you leaving? What's wrong? Isn't this your home too?"
Sebastian glanced at Molly, who was distractedly playing with Theodore, sensing she didn't want him to stay. He said, "Dad, I have a meeting in the city tomorrow, and my uniform is at home. Let Molly stay here with you for a few days. When she wants to go home, I'll come to get her."
After speaking, Sebastian walked over and hugged the adorable Theodore. "Teddy, I'm leaving." Despite not being a father, Sebastian's way of holding the child made Theodore happy.
Sebastian handed Theodore to Molly and said to her, "I'm leaving."
This time, not only Vera but even the usually oblivious Susan noticed something was off. It seemed Sebastian and Molly had argued!
Shawn, married for decades, also sensed the tension.
Shawn silently watched Sebastian leave and then glanced at Molly.
He wisely chose not to interfere in Molly's marriage, continuing to play the role of the clueless elder.
Later, as the evening grew darker and a light rain began to fall, the melancholic atmosphere easily stirred feelings of sadness.
Shortly after Sebastian left, Vera and Molly sat together. Molly asked, "Vera, should I have asked Sebastian to stay? I feel so unhappy. Letting him leave alone makes me feel terrible. He probably hasn't eaten. He came straight here after work when he saw I wasn't home."
Vera asked, "You two have only been married for a short time. You were so close just a few days ago. Why are you upset today?"
"Do you think Sebastian is crazy? He keeps asking if I love my 'brother' or him more." Molly continued, "Isn't he both? I didn't know men had so many demands after getting married."
Vera leaned against the window, chatting quietly with Molly, "Maybe you still treat Sebastian like a brother, just like before, making him feel you didn't marry him out of love."
Molly said, "Men's desires are never satisfied. Sebastian's are growing, spreading, conquering everything. At first, he was satisfied when I agreed to marry him..." Later, Sebastian persuaded Vera to get the marriage certificate, and he was satisfied.
Then, Vera smoothly entered the marriage with him.
Continuing, he needed to possess her to be satisfied.
Now, with all that done, Sebastian has moved on to demanding Molly's love.
Vera said, "Why don't you just tell Sebastian you love him? If you didn't love him, would you have married him so young?"
Molly replied, "I won't say it."
All those things were done passively by Molly, influenced by Sebastian. This time, she was determined to stand her ground and not say it.
Vera teased, "Who was just worried about Sebastian not having dinner? Now he's at the Chase Manor, who knows if there's any dinner left."

Theodore needed her again, so Vera immediately stood up, her eyes meeting Theodore's pitiful little face. "Theodore is sick. You handle your own issues; I'm going to take care of my baby."
Vera walked over, and Theodore almost rolled his tiny body towards her.
Molly stood by the window for two minutes, then picked up her phone and called Sebastian.
Sebastian, feeling a bit lonely, was about to head to the station for his night shift, having just swapped shifts with a colleague.
When the phone rang, he saw it was Molly.
Sebastian immediately pulled over to the side of the road and answered, "Molly?"
"It's raining. Drive slowly. Remember to eat when you get home!"
Sebastian smiled instantly, feeling reassured that Molly cared about him.
"Tonight, I won't be around. Don't play with your phone too much. Get some rest early.
If you want to come home, call me, and I'll pick you up."
Molly lowered her head, responded softly, and then hung up.
Sebastian smiled, the phone call healing his earlier loneliness. Molly was thinking of him.
After the call, Molly leaned against the window, feeling her temper was too good. She put down her phone and returned to the Olteran family's "little darling." Wherever Teddy was, he had to be the most pampered. Susan, seeing he had a slight cold, was already searching online for remedies, planning to roll up her sleeves and cook for Teddy to help him recover.

Later, because Teddy was too young, the warm porridge Susan made was consumed by the adults, leaving Teddy drooling.
Vincent took out the household thermometer, frequently checking Teddy's temperature. As soon as it slightly exceeded 98 degrees Fahrenheit, he wanted to call the family doctor to check on Teddy.
"Vincent, children's body temperatures are naturally higher."
Vincent became even more cautious.
At night, he handed the thermometer to Vera and Patrick, reminding them, "Check his temperature every two hours."
Before bed, Molly had to hug Teddy and give him a couple of kisses. "Teddy, if you weren't sick, your parents wouldn't let me have you. I would love to sleep with my little darling tonight."
Shawn, feeling sorry, said, "Teddy's face has slimmed down from being sick."
The whole family was speechless.
Teddy cried more frequently due to his illness, but Vera and Patrick could clearly feel it was because he was uncomfortable, not his usual cute whining.
Mother and child were connected; Teddy would whimper even in his sleep, only feeling better when Vera held him.
"Vera, let me hold him for a while. You should sleep; you have class tomorrow."
Vera replied, "You sleep; you have a meeting tomorrow. Besides, he won't let you hold him, only me."
They didn't bathe Teddy that night. Occasionally, when Teddy's nose was stuffy, Vera, as a new mom, didn't know what to do.
Late at night, Randall came downstairs for water and saw Vera in the living room, holding Teddy. "Vera, why are you back? Why are you up in the middle of the night, wandering around with Teddy?"noveldrama
Randall was unaware of the evening's events at home.
Vera said, "Teddy has a slight cold and is a bit fussy. When he cries in the bedroom, it disturbs Patrick's rest, so I decided to bring him to the living room for a while."
