The Lady Nun Vows Revenge

The Silent 711

Amidst the ruins. Names roared skywartt.

Beyond the flames, a bloody melee raged.

Gabriel had brought a large force with him. While he might underestimate others, he would never underestimate Dale-the Marquis of Loyalty and Valor a long time ally of the Duke's estate.

After all, Dale had once been the only and most trusted military pawn in Gabriel's hands.

Having led troops for years, Dale had slain countless enemies on the battlefield, and every one of his military achievements was hard-earned.

Otherwise, the king himself wouldn't have been so reluctant to let him resign from office.

So killing Dale was no easy feat for Gabriel.

But before this, the Nevill family had already suffered greatly at the hands of Sophie.

Previously, to save Adeline, Dale had even stabbed himself in

hand ten times.

At this moment, Dale was operating at just 70-80% of his usual strength.

Despite the restriction, Dale came dangerously close to fighting his way to Gabriel.

Gabriel's face hardened. He jabbed a finger at Adeline and shouted, "Kill her!" The Stonor family's assassins closest to Adeline immediately switched targets, their blades flashing as they lunged at her.

"Gabriel, don't you dare!" Dale roared.

Enraged, Dale whirled around and charged back to rescue Adeline, who had been hiding to the side.

However, by rushing back to save her, he had played right into Gabriel's hands. Gabriel shouted coldly, "All of you, attack! Leave none alive!"

Disoriented in the chaos, Dale took a vicious slash to his arm. Risking the loss of his hand, he desperately forced his way through the assassins' blades and dragged Adeline to safety.

Dale roared, "Kill them all! Even if we die today, we're taking them down with us!"

At his command, his last remaining sworn men surged forward, hurling themselves at the enemy with reckless abandon.

More and more blood, mangled limbs, and corpses soaked half the night sky in crimson.

The night was pitch black, yet all combatants fought with frenzied bloodlust, as if they were no longer under the cover of darkness, but trapped in a hellscape drenched in blood.

Amidst the chaos of battle, a shadowy figure crept forward inch by inch, using the darkness as cover to stealthily advance.

Dale, drenched in blood, fought desperately to shield Adeline. Just as he was about to cut down the last of their attackers, Adeline-cradled in his arms- caught something in her peripheral vision. Her expression changed in an instant.

The next instant, Adeline seized her husband's shoulders. Her delicate frame erupting with a sudden, desperate strength as she shoved him aside.

Adeline coughed up blood, her face contorted in agony as she gazed at Dale.

And behind her, the one who had thrust his sword through her abdomen, was none other than Gabriel.
