Hendrix stood there in silence. Only he knew what had driven him to make that proposal earlier. Noelle was right-he hadn't forgiven her. He also knew their relationship was riddled with emotional scars.noveldrama

Hendrix admitted that his initial suggestion to join them had been motivated by Dylan. He didn't want the person standing by Noelle's side in the end to be him. So that was why he had inserted himself into their plans, to which Noelle had agreed.

To his surprise, he had genuinely enjoyed himself today. So, he had thought, maybe the three of them could just continue like this-even if it was just for Rosie's sake.

But now, Hendrix realized how naïve he had been. Noelle had only wanted to create a good memory for Rosie, with emphasis on the word "memory". Meaning

to say, there was no future for them to be together anymore.

At this thought, Hendrix couldn't help but laugh. "Then, who do you feel comfortable being with? Dylan?"

He knew she had been messaging Dylan the whole day. So, he had guessed right from the very start-they had originally made plans to go to the amusement park together, and she was even going to bring Rosie along.

What was she thinking? Was Noelle really going to ask Dylan to become Rosie's father?

"Did you forget that you were kidnapped by Jean before?" Jendrix asked. "Do you know that Dylan was the one who planned it? He didn't want to marry Jean, so he deliberately fueled her hatred toward you. Because he knew—"

"I know," Noelle cut him off.

Those two words, uttered so indifferently, silenced everything else Hendrix had to say.

"He and I are just friends now," Noelle said softly.

"Friends?" Hendrix's smirk deepened. "Then, what about him? Does he just want to be friends? Other people might not know what he really wants from you, but don't tell me you

don't!"

Noelle's response was sincere and earnest. And precisely because it was so

sincere, Hendrix felt the cutting impact even more deeply.

If she had simply said she wanted to

be with Dylan, he could have dismissed it as something she said in anger. Or he could have told himself she was just using Dylan to make him jealous. Otherwise, she wouldn't have so easily canceled her plans with Dylan today and chosen to go out with him instead.

But now, Hendrix realized that wasn't the case. She meant every word. She was genuinely staying in touch with Dylan because she was seriously considering being with him.

"Even after what he did to you?" Hendrix's voice dropped.

"I know about that, too. But everyone has their reasons, don't they?"

As Noelle finished speaking, Hendrix suddenly grabbed her arm.
