The Tycoon's Secret Wife's Escape

Chapter 58

Once again, I passed out due to low blood sugar.

When I regained consciousness, the first thing I registered was Grayson, who hunched over and gripping my hand tightly. Though softened by concern, his expression carried the weight of something darker.

My back protested against the hard surface beneath me, and I tried to sit up. He must have noticed because his head snapped, and his gaze locked onto mine.

I swallowed hard, but the image from earlier flashed vividly in my mind-the bloodied man, the murderous rage in Grayson's eyes. My body betrayed me as I began to tremble.

"Are you afraid of me because of what you witnessed?" His voice was low, pained, yet steady.

I couldn't meet his gaze. There was truth in his words, and I hated myself for it.

"I'm sorry you had to witness that, Bella," he said after a pause, his voice softer now. "This morning, I discovered he was a spy for my brother. That man was feeding him crucial information about the company for money. My siblings aren't satisfied with my progress. They're searching for ways to make Grandma despise and tear me down."

He exhaled sharply. "But that wasn't all. He'd been preying on our female trainees, sexually harassing them. I couldn't contain my anger after hearing his manipulative excuses. A predator had been lurking in my office, and I refused to tolerate

Guilt washed over me, leaving me frozen in place.

Judging him based solely on what was seen, without knowing the whole story, felt unbearably wrong.

"I'm sorry I panicked..."

His hand came up to cup my cheek, thumb brushing gently across my skin. "You shouldn't have had to see that. But, Bella. that's who I truly am, especially in

business. I have to be tough to survive."

"What if he reports you for the assault?"

"He deserves it, Bella. I won't apologize for defending my employees or protecting what's mine. That monster deserved far worse than what he got

The fury reignited in his eyes as the memory of the man resurfaced.

"When I saw how you panicked, I lost it, Bella. If that car had hit you earlier, I don't know how I could have handled it.."

I took a deep breath, steering us toward why I went to his office.

"I found out that Landon Moretti, the classmate who took his own life, was your brother. Is that true?"

Grayson's eyes were instantly filled with redness. He started trembling, and his grip on my hand tightened further, enough that I could feel the sting of it turning my skin red.

"You're hurting me, Gray.." I whispered.

"I-I'm sorry.." He loosened his hold instantly, looking shaken.

"I think I understand why you never mentioned him," I said softly. "We've known each other for years, but you never once brought up Landon. Was it too painful to remember?"

I was grasping at a guess, but he shook his head.

"Then why?"

“Because I'm ashamed of myself," he confessed, his voice laced with regret. "And because... he liked you, Bella.

Shock flooded my face as 1 processed his words "11-he liked me?"

63%

He nodded, his expression serious. "And I discovered that Landon didn't commit suicide. I only learned the truth when you mentioned Tina and your necklace."

A gasp escaped me, my thoughts still jumbled, and I could not piece everything together.

But then, my concentration was broken by a knock, and Tina stepped inside, followed by Eliot.

I looked back at Grayson, my confusion growing with each passing moment.

"Mr. Blake, as per your instructions, I've already provided the information to the police, Tina reported, giving me a meaningful look before stepping back. "What information?"

Eliot set the bag of food on the table, making an effort to do so as quietly as possible.

"We'll go to the police station after you eat," Grayson said, then dismissed them both with a nod

As they left, I couldn't hold back my question. "Why is Tina here?"

*Didn't I tell you? She used to work at the Grand Plaza Hotel. After I recovered the necklace, I offered her a training opportunity at my company's headquarters. She's the one who reported that the man you saw in the office earlier tried to

assault her."

So it was true-Grayson and Tina had no inappropriate romantic involvement. A wave of relief washed over me, but my mind was still filled with questions.

But all the information I would receive was still fnoveldrama

far from revealing the deeper truth...

In Grayson's perspective.....

"Brother, I found this necklace on the chair she sat on during the game," Landon muttered, showing the necklace to Grayson during their video call. "She was looking for it in class, but I was too scared to tell her. I thought she'd think I stole

it."

Grayson could only shake his head, Landon was his anchor, his only constant in a world offering little from their neglectful mother and his cold-hearted father.

When their mother's manipulations failed with Mr. Blake, she tried the same manipulative tactics with an Italian businessman, only to discover that Landon's father wasn't a businessman but a lowly club host.

All their mother cared about was money. Ultimately, it was just the two of them, motivating and supporting each other.

But after that video call, Grayson never could have imagined that the next time he'd see Landon, it would be in the form of his lifeless body-shattering him completely.

His brother, the one who had kept him strong through everything, was gone.

Grayson couldn't believe the news-that Landon had jumped from the top of the school building.

Landon had been so happy the last time they spoke.

What had his brother been through!
