too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian)

Chapter 530

Amelia nudged Michael. "See? Security awareness training does work."

Lila chuckled at her joke but had been thinking the same thing. What if it wasnoveldrama

someone from the Moore family?

However, all three stopped laughing when the assistant brought the visitor closer.

The lower half of this man's face bore a striking resemblance to both Faith and

Andy. He had clearly inherited Dennis' features.

However, his eyes must have come from his mother. It was soft, filled with an

almost tender gaze.

Amelia leaned forward and whispered, "Is the Moore family switching tactics?

Why did they send a pretty boy over?"

Michael peeked from beside her. "He still can't compare to Mr. Morgan."

"This one looks gentle and obedient, and he probably has a sweet voice. Just like

how you like your gentle girls." Amelia shot him a glance. "Don't act clueless. I

saw how you smiled around that sweet idol."

Michael scratched his nose, choosing to stay silent.

The newcomer looked young, like a university student. His steps were light and

he smiled charmingly as he approached Lila. "You must be Ms. Lila Hart, right?"

Amelia shot Michael a look, proud that her guess was right.

Michael silently nodded. The guy had some tricks up his sleeve. But why did he

give off such an odd vibe?

Lila felt a chill run down her spine. She stood up and forced a polite smile. "Just

call me Lila. What brings you here?"

"I'm Moses Moore White," Moses introduced himself.

His last name wasn't Moore.

Lila glanced at Amelia and Michael who were equally surprised.

Did Dennis not allow this son to take his last name? Or maybe his middle name

was a placeholder for when he would eventually reclaim his Moore identity?

Moses didn't seem to notice their reactions. He continued, "I want to be one of

your artists."

Lila and the two behind her choked. She waved a hand dismissively. "I'm not a

manager. I don't sign artists."

"But you are managing artists now, aren't you? You even mentored an actor who

won Best Actor. That proves your skill. I'm obedient and eager to learn." Moses

persisted.

Amelia interjected, "Correction. He's an ex-best actor."

Michael chuckled behind her, while Lila wasn't surprised at Amelia's strong

reaction.

Amelia was a bright and

straightforward person. At first, she

had genuinely thought Dorian was

interesting. But she was furious after

discovering everything he had done

to Lila.

The worst part? The more she thought about it, the less she understood how she

had been blind enough to consider Dorian a friend in the first place.

In short, Amelia's feelings toward Dorian had turned into pure hatred.

Moses chuckled. "People like that dig their own graves."

Amelia cut straight to the point. "Enough with the small talk. Why did Dennis send

you?"

Lila hesitated, then stepped back, putting some distance between them.

Dennis had serious issues with how

he raised his children. He had

personally shaped Andy into the

monster he was. And who knew if

Moses had been raised under the

same twisted ideology?

Even though Moses looked harmless, Lila wasn't naive. She smiled faintly. "Sorry,

but I really..."

"Lila, don't reject me so quickly,"

Moses interrupted with a smile. "I

may be Dennis' son. But I grew up

being judged by everyone because

of him I never enjoyed any of the

benefits he brought, so why should I

help him get what he wants?"

His tone was filled with disdain. "I hate him even more than you do."

Moses' gaze was sincere and carried a hint of pleading as he looked at Lila.
