Unforgettable love

Chapter 765

Chapter 765:

Theresa got up and brought the dishes.

Armand said, “I don’t feel like eating.”

Theresa stood still and gave Armand a look, “Is it because you just woke up?”.

Armand replied, “Maybe. I’m thirsty.”

Theresa put down the dishes and reached for a glass of water for Armand.

Armand took the glass and gulped down the water. He was so thirsty that he only felt better after a while.

Theresa took the empty glass from Armand. Armand glanced at Theresa, “Come eat.

Theresa, “Come and eat. You haven’t had any breakfast.”

Theresa put down the glass and sat down in front of the table, but she didn’t feel like eating. She had her chopsticks in her hand, but she didn’t take anything from her lunch box. She played with the rice in her lunch box instead of putting it in her mouth.

Theresa thought about it for a while before saying it out loud, “I told Mrs. Bernie that I agreed.”

Armand had heard it when the time she pretended to be unconscious, but he felt guilty hearing it from her right now.

Theresa initially disagreed.

Armand understood why even though she wasn’t a woman.

But Theresa agreed for him.

Armand wanted to get out of bed. Theresa came over and helped him, “You’re hurt. You shouldn’t get out of bed.”

“It’s okay,” Armand said. He couldn’t thank Theresa. Any words of gratitude could not make it up to Theresa.

All Armand could do was hug Theresa in his arms and let her know she could trust him.

When they both calmed down, Theresa called Elizabeth and told her that Armand had woken up. Elizabeth was so excited that she wanted to head to the hospital immediately.

And so she did. Elizabeth arrived at the hospital with the help of her caregiver.

Elizabeth told her that she could be discharged from the hospital today, but that Boyce was too busy and didn’t have time to come sign the papers for her. Theresa told her, “I’ll help you with that.”

Elizabeth took Theresa’s hand and said, “Thank you.”

Armand was relieved to see that Theresa and Elizabeth were getting along. He no longer had to be the middleman between them. Armand said, “We’re family.”

Then Armand glanced at Theresa, “She sacrificed a lot for me. Grandma, please be good to her.”

Elizabeth’s eyes turned red. She looked at Armand, “You think I’m a bad person?”

Elizabeth had liked Theresa ever since, and she still liked her now, but she felt guilty. She had been carrying around so much stress, and what was that for? It was so Armand could have a child of his own.noveldrama

And now Armand wanted to blame her?

Theresa was quick to speak up for Armand, “He didn’t mean it that way.”

Elizabeth wiped away tears, “I’m already a bad person regardless of whether he thinks so. It’s my fault for pushing you to have babies when I know your body probably isn’t ready for it. But…”

A guilty look appeared on Elizabeth’s face, “I don’t regret it. I have to do it, even though I know you’re going to hate me. I can’t…”

“I understand, Mrs. Bernie. It doesn’t take much to say. I understand where you’re coming from, so I’m willing to give in,” Theresa lowered her gaze. She realized her fight meant nothing when she saw Armand lying on the bed, unconscious, not knowing when he would regain consciousness.

All that fighting was meaningless if Armand was gone. All that was left was regret.

Theresa was afraid of regret, so she would compromise when Armand was unconscious.

Sometimes she thought it was no bad thing for another woman to do. At least Armand would have a child, just as Elizabeth had told her.

The child was going to call Theresa ‘mother,’ and that made up for the grief over her infertility.

“You’re a good girl,” Elizabeth’s eyes were reddened.

Theresa remained silent.

Good girl?

She didn’t think she was good at all.

If she were good, she wouldn’t be selfish and care only about herself.

She was not a good person.

Now that Armand had woken up she didn’t need people standing by her bedside. If he felt uncomfortable, he could press the buzzer and call doctors and nurses. Theresa went and helped Elizabeth with her discharge procedure and paying her caregiver. In addition, the house maid had left, so she needed to find another maid to replace the previous one.

Elizabeth could not be left unattended.

Theresa was unfamiliar with the city and didn’t know where she could find a maid, so she enlisted Dolores’ help. However, Dolores could not leave the house either, so she asked Matthew to help Theresa.

Matthew was also very nervous. Abbot quit, and this time it was for real. Abbot said he was exhausted and needed some time off.

A solemn atmosphere pervaded the WY Group director’s office for a long time. Everyone was breathing softly and no one dared to make noises. Matthew stared at the resignation letter Abbott handed him for quite a while.

“Have you thought it through?” Matthew gave Abbott a glance.

Abbott replied, “Yes, I have thought it through. I’ve been really swamped at work and haven’t had time to go on a retreat before. I want to do it now.”

Abbott had not been paying attention at work since Emma left. He even made some mistakes and caused the company to lose quite a bit of money. Abbott didn’t know what was wrong with himself either. He kept thinking about Emma and couldn’t concentrate on doing anything else.

Abbott had tried many ways to forget about Emma. He even tried using another woman to distract himself.

Abbott seriously thought he needed some time off. He might make more mistakes if he kept working in such an unstable state of mind.

Matthew set aside the letter of resignation.

Matthew granted Abbott some time off, but did not accept his request to resign: “I will give you three months’ vacation. Enjoy your vacation as much as you can. I will let you go, only if you insist on resigning after the vacation.”

Abbott knew that Matthew needed people to help him in the company now. Matthew rarely came to the office because Dolores’ due date was near, and Matthew spent most of his time at the hospital with Dolores.

It might upset Matthew if Abbott left now, but he couldn’t function well at work either if he stayed. He said quietly, “I’m so sorry.”

“It’s okay,” Matthew waved his hand, “Go find a fund in the Finance Department. You haven’t had time off before, so the company is going to pay for your vacation this time.”

“But…” Abbott wanted to turn down Matthew’s offer. He had made the company lose money, so of course he can’t accept the money Matthew was offering him.

However, Matthew was getting impatient, “Take it. Don’t negotiate with me.” Abbott had no choice but to accept the money.

Matthew shook his hand. At the same time, his phone rang on the desk.

Matthew answered the phone. It was Dolores’.
