A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 191 Standing Up for Her

Janet said, "Fine, an apology it is. We'll do as you ask. Now, call Theo and tell him to release Benson."

Sierra's eyes flickered with surprise.

She had already suspected that Liam and Janet had come to apologize because of Theo, but she was still caught off guard upon hearing Janet's confirmation.

So, Theo had done this to stand up for her. A warm feeling spread through her heart as she responded calmly, "Once Benson apologizes to my senior, he can walk free."noveldrama

"Alright."

Before Janet could speak, Liam immediately agreed in a gentle yet firm voice, "Sierra, we owe you an apology. Your medical expenses will be covered by me, and I'll have some nutritional supplements sent over to help you recover.

"Also, here's a card with 20,000 dollars on it. Consider it a small token of compensation from me. Please take care of yourself."

As he spoke, he placed a bank card on the table beside her hospital bed.

Janet clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palm.

Before coming here, Liam had never mentioned giving Sierra money.

Though 20,000 dollars was nothing to the Gray family, the fact that it was going to Sierra made her stomach churn with resentment.

After everything she put Benson through, they had to compensate her?

However, with so many people present, she couldn't openly contradict Liam. She had no choice but to swallow her anger, though her glare toward the woman in the hospital bed was filled with hostility.

Sierra was equally taken aback by Liam's gesture. Seeing him place the bank card on the table, she frowned deeply.

"Mr. Gray, I won't take your money. Please take it back."

She couldn't lift her arms, so she turned to Madison. "Maddy, help me return the card to Mr. Gray."

Madison respected her decision, although she felt that 20,000 dollars wasn't nearly enough considering all that Sierra had suffered. She picked up the card and handed it back to Liam.

"Mr. Gray, Cee won't accept it. This is also to prevent someone from saying that she's keeping Benson locked up for money."

She shot a casual glance at Janet.

Janet instantly felt the jab. Her face flushed slightly with embarrassment. "Who are you talking about?"

"The guilty ones will know who," Madison replied lightly. "I hope you'll keep Benson in check from now on and stop interfering in other people's lives."

Janet shot her an enraged glare before storming out of the hospital room.

Liam cast a regretful glance at Sierra. "Sierra, please just accept it. It would put my mind at ease."

"No need, Mr. Gray. You should go after Mrs. Gray."

Her voice was calm and distant.

With no other choice, he took the bank card back. His voice remained warm as he said, "Rest well, Sierra. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to call me."

"Alright." Sierra gave him a small nod, watching as he left the room. Gradually, her expression turned cold.

The two bodyguards also exited the room and closed the door behind them. Madison sat back in her chair, her face filled with confusion. "Cee, why did you let Benson off so easily? Once he's out, he's bound to keep pestering you."

Sierra lowered her eyes. After a few seconds of silence, she spoke softly, "Benson saved my life once. If not for him, I might have died in that fire. Consider this my way of repaying that debt for the last time.

"Besides, Uncle Theo forced Mr. Gray and Mrs. Gray to come to the hospital and apologize for my forgiveness. That was his way of standing up for me. Since Uncle Theo and Mr. Gray are blood brothers, I don't want to cause a rift between them because of me."
