Bride of the Cursed Alpha (Auren and Lucien)

Rejected the alpha mate 243

Chapter 243

Bradley POV

I could see the sweat beading on his forehead. Before he could respond, Tarian moved in quickly, and caught him by his arm.Take us to your office in this building. We know that you have one here.”

“What? No!” the manager shrieked.

I punched him on his face just enough to dislocate his nose. “Now!” I growled.

The manager cried, looking at us with disbelief. “Who are you?”

In less than ten minutes, we were on the way to their hidden office in this building. In his dreams, Morelli wouldn’t have thought that he would be able to uncover his real office where all his shady real estate deals were carried out.

With an army of a dozen wolves, once we reached the office, which was in the basement, my wolves took charge. They hauled the five men working there, and locked them all in a room despite protests and fights. Idiots. They didn’t know that they didn’t have a chance against the wolves.

As soon as we rounded them up, I nodded at Tarian. Using his contacts to dig into the situation, he accessed Morelli’s ledger, and what we found was worse than I imagined–Morelli had been using threats, bribes, and extortion to force tenants out of the building. He wasn’t just flipping properties for profit. He was driving people out of their homes and taking their money under the guise of “renovation fees” that didn’t exist.

“Done,” Tarian whispered as he looked at the information in front of us. He gave me a quick nod, and I felt the weight of it–this was the proof we needed to bring Morelli down once and for all. He must be still reeling under the trauma of other two businesses falling.

But I also knew that things weren’t going to be that easy.

As we were leaving the building, we noticed a group of Morelli’s men walking into the complex, carrying large duffel bags. They looked around, and the tension in the air shifted. They weren’t just here for a regular inspection–they were here to handle something, or someone.

I wasn’t sure if they’d noticed us yet, but Tarian’s hand shot out, grabbing my wrist. “We need to leave. Now.”

Before I could respond, the sound of a door creaking open echoed behind us. I spun around to see Morelli’s men advancing. It was too late to sneak out the back. This was something I hadn’t thought about. How did these men come to know about us? Was there an alarm in the basement room?

“Bradley!” Tarian hissed, pulling me down a side alley. “Get out of here!”

I shot him a glare. “Not without you!” This wasn’t the time to be reckless. We needed a plan, and fast.

We ducked into an alley, and I quickly called my father. “I’ve got a situation. Morelli’s men on to us.”

Within seconds, my father’s calm yoice came through. “Get out of there, Bradley. If it’s not safe, don’t hesitate to move fast. Tarian, do what you need to.”

Tarian nodded sharply and took off, making his way to the back of the building. Meanwhile, I stayed put, keeping an eye on the men who were now moving towards us, still unaware of who we were. But that was about to change.

Just as the men rounded the corner, I pounced. I kicked the door open, slamming it into one of them, sending him flying into the wall. The other two were caught off guard, but not for long. They quickly recovered and came at me.

Three wolves around me came in front of me. We didn’t have time to waste. We needed to take these guys down and get the hell out of here before things escalated.noveldrama

The fight was quick but brutal. We had them pinned and on the ground in a matter of minutes, but as we finished them off, I heard the sound of more footsteps approaching. This wasn’t going to end well unless we moved fast.

“Bradley, go,” Tarian urged, pulling me back into the alley. “Get out of here before Morelli’s men get more reinforcements. I’ll clean this up.

*I’m not leaving without you,I snapped, but I knew Tarian wouldn’t let me stay. He was already pushing me forward.

Golhe barked, shoving me in the direction of the car. You’ve got the info. I’ll handle the rest.He handed me the USB where he had copieri Morelli’s shady deals. “My contact is waiting at the sixth avenue. Go now!”

Fuck. I didn’t want to leave him, but the situation was too pressing. I turned, running down the alley toward the car where my men were waiting. We couldn’t let Morelli win.

As I reached the car, a loud boom echoed in the air. I felt a sharp pain in my side. My breath caught in my chest as I staggered. My shirt was soaked with blood. My hand went to my chest where it got covered with blood.

“Alpha! One of my wolves caught me.

One of the thugs had gotten a lucky shot in during the fight., and I was starting to feel dizzy. It was a bullet through my heart. I knew that my body would heal fast and my heart would stitch, but it would take a few hours of rest. And I didn’t have that kind of time.

/climbed into the car, but before I could say anything, my vision blurred. The pain starting to overwhelm me.

“We need to get to the hospital,” someone muttered.

“No,” I said firmly. “We need to finish this.” A bullet to a werewolf’s heart was an ugly scene. We recovered in a day because the heart was where all the blood pumped to and fro. But being an Alpha, I knew it would be a matter of a few hours.

As the car sped through the streets, I succumbed to the darkness.
