Wilbur summoned the Magic Dragon Blade once more, killing another dozennoveldrama

shadows. Yet another overwhelming wave of them climbed up the tree right after, throwing themselves at Wilbur.

Wilbur used the Magic Dragon Blade to kill a few more shadows, then recited a spell, activating the Quad Thunder, which summoned four gigantic balls of lightning. They hovered in mid-air, hissing with sparks of lightning that shot out and struck the shadows.

However, the shadows seemed to be completely unfazed by the lightning strikes. They were completely unaffected, even growing more excitable as they climbed upward.

It was not long before the shadows had bitten down on Wilbur's Magic Dragon Blade once more. In the end, several shadows held onto the blade tightly and fell to the ground, clinging to it as Wilbur let go of the blade.

An idea struck Wilbur, and he summoned an Azure Dragon Spear. It was slightly longer than the Magic Dragon Blade, but Wilbur was nothing but furious. He felt like the dragon god had tricked him.

The Aura Return that he had spent eight thousand grace points on could at least help him escape when his life was in danger. Meanwhile, the Azure Dragon Spear had cost a whopping ten thousand points and looked like nothing more than a slightly more convenient weapon.

Ten thousand grace points was no by no means a small sum!

Wilbur was all the more enraged then and hurled the Azure Dragon Spear toward the shadows below. Yet just as he was about to retrieve the spear, something brilliant happened.

The shadow that was struck began to deflate like a balloon and was eventually completely absorbed by the Azure Dragon Spear. The next second, the scales on the spear began to ripple as an azure dragon flew out and soared downwards.

The azure dragon let out a cry of fury, sinking its talons into a shadow and dissolving it into black miasma at once. It flicked its tail next and sent two more shadows flying.

Upon doing all of this, the azure dragon wrapped itself around the trunk of the tree. The black miasma around it seemed to enter its body and was converted into dragon aura. This caused its dragon aura to grow stronger over time, and it was not long before the area within a ten-meter radius around it became a bubble devoid of dark energy.

"What the..."

Wilbur was shocked, and then realization dawned upon him. He had thought that the Azure Dragon Spear was just a normal weapon and completely forgot the fact that it was forged out of dragon aura.

The Azure Dragon Spear could absorb the power of its enemies, which would activate the azure dragon on it. The azure dragon's aura would grow more and more powerful to take down the attacks of its opponents, as well as kill them when the moment was right.

It might be a normal weapon to a regular mortal, but a skilled cultivator would understand how precious the Azure Dragon Spear was.

The azure dragon guarded the tree fiercely, and the shadows seemed to be thwarted by its powerful aura. They did not dare to come any closer, and Wilbur lit up as he looked around. All of a sudden, he spotted a dozen or so shadows crowded together as if they had discovered something.

This made Wilbur rather confused. He had not been able to sense the slightest bit of formation aura after looking all day. What was causing those shadows to crowd around that area?
