Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 2458

They were bound to sense even a hint of light aura in the area, and Wilbur knew there was no escaping for him now.

Shuffling sounds could be heard as those figures moved around in the forest.

As the sound of the shadows' footsteps got closer and closer, Wilbur decided to stop hiding his aura completely. He absorbed the dark aura around him and converted it into the power of light, which he used to create a light barrier.

The shadows crowded over just as the light barrier formed, pouncing onto it relentlessly as Wilbur stared daggers at them. "Go on, let's see how much you can take! If you can't take it all, you're going to die!"

Wilbur continued to convert the dark energy with his Light Gloves, but there were simply far too many shadows. They surrounded him immediately, voraciously absorbing the light barrier regardless of how much power of light Wilbur was channeling into it.

The light barrier became dangerously thin in no time. At last, it flickered valiantly before vanishing completely. Wilbur summoned the Magic Dragon Blade and swung it outward.noveldrama

"Die, you monsters!"

The dozens of shadows in front of Wilbur were killed at once, but there were still too many of them. The shadows at the back leaped across their dead counterparts, charging toward Wilbur once more.

Just as Wilbur was about to attack again, two of the shadows bit down on each of his arms with their teeth. Several more shadows plunged their fangs down onto the Magic Dragon Blade and actually chewed it to bits right before Wilbur's eyes.

A wave of pain shot through Wilbur's right shoulder, giving him no choice but to activate the Dragon's Safehaven. Brightly-colored rays of light appeared above his head, killing all the shadows clinging to him at once.

Wilbur heaved a sigh of relief as he stood within the safehaven. The shadows outside pounced once more to try and absorb the brightly-colored light. However, every one of the shadows that touched the safehaven would be reduced to black miasma.

Even so, there seemed to be countless shadows who were simply hellbent on getting Wilbur. It was as if they had no sense of logic or consciousness, flocking to the source of the light aura like moths to a flame.

As wave after wave of shadows threw themselves against the Dragon's Safehaven and disintegrated, Wilbur began to worry.

He knew that the shadows would swallow him alive if he could not come up with a way to take them down, but how was he going to do it?

A minute passed in no time, and Wilbur activated the Dragon's Safehaven again right after.

He scanned his surroundings under the protection of the light rays and spotted a large tree not far away. There was a large branch sticking out around five meters up the trunk. The shadows, despite being absolutely feral, could not seem to fly.

Jumping onto the branch would keep him safe for the time being. This was what Wilbur did as soon as the Dragon's Safehaven disappeared, jumping and landing on the huge branch above.
