The Dark Messenger glared at him, which frightened Holt, causing him to quickly lower his gaze.

Truth be told, the Dark Messenger could leave at any time because there were a lot of other powerful cultivators in the world. There were quite a few old men who were far better than Wilbur. However, the Dark Messenger had a grudge against Wilbur since he was tricked by Wilbur, after all. Moreover, Wilbur was a dragon clan cultivator.

Since Wilbur did not enter the arcane formation and the mirage dimension through spells, the Dark Messenger believed it must be due to a special attraction generated by the dragon aura that Wilbur emitted, which ultimately allowed him to enter those two dimensions.

He knew those who believed in rules would only be a slave for the rest of their lives. They would be ordered around and sent to complete impossible tasks which led to their demise.
