Adam gritted his teeth, balling his hands into fists as he stared at Wilbur through bloodshot eyes. "You bastard! You're the reason I ended up here! I was supposed to live! You're the reason my mother had to grieve for my death! This is all your fault, and only by killing you will I soothe the pain in my chest. You're f*cking dead!"

Adam shot out toward Wilbur, who came charging with his sword as well.

A sword aura flashed in the air, and Adam's body turned transparent as it struck him. The sword aura passed through Adam's body like he was not even there, landing on a nearby building instead.

The building crumbled at once as its residents cried out in terror. Their screams eventually stopped as the building collapsed into a pile of dust and debris.

Adam glanced at the collapsed building, suddenly lighting up with glee and joy. "Ha, Wilbur! You've always been proud of standing for justice and goodness, but now you've killed a bunch of innocent civilians. Where did that goodwill go, huh? You've always been an evil cultivator, and that's just the truth!"

Wilbur was furious. "I didn't mean to kill them, unlike you! You're the one who should be dead."

"It doesn't matter what you say. You killed the innocent people of Bruille Town, which makes you an evil cultivator! And now, I'm going to get rid of you to avenge these townsfolk!"

Upon saying those words, Adam began to absorb the dark energy around him. Dozens of tentacles stretched out from behind him, wriggling toward Wilbur at top speed.

Wilbur chopped off a dozen or so of the tentacles with his Magic Dragon Blade, but it was snatched out of his grasp soon by another tentacle.

"You're dead, Wilbur Penn!"

Adam's remaining tentacles turned into razor-sharp blades that shot out toward Wilbur's chest. Wilbur's limbs were now held in place by a few tentacles, and he summoned a black dragon to appear behind him.

The black dragon came soaring over, cutting off Adam's tentacles and protecting Wilbur from a fatal blow.

"I'm not an evil cultivator, Adam. You're the one who deserves to die!"

Wilbur's eyes turned jet-black all of a sudden as powerful dark energy radiated off him to freeze Adam's tentacles. The ice quickly spread to Adam's torso and had completely frozen him in a matter of seconds.

Crack!

The layer of ice shattered as Adam glowered at Wilbur. "I'm going to kill you, Wilbur Penn!"

Adam had lost his temper completely then. Four figures formed from the dark aura around him, and Wilbur was shocked to realize that they were all at peak Emperor level.

Adam had managed to forge four peak Emperor level elites all on his own. All four figures each channeled a ball of dark energy as they surrounded Wilbur.

The four energy balls connected to form one big ball of energy, one that completely enveloped Wilbur.

Following that, the shadows continued to channel energy into the ball. It grew bigger and bigger, and eventually, the shadows melded into the ball as one in the form of even darker energy.noveldrama

Wilbur could sense the immense pressure coming from around him. It was so powerful that it threatened to crush Wilbur. He looked around, and his body began to rapidly absorb the dark energy.

The ball of energy began to reduce in size. It was not long before Wilbur finally absorbed all of it. The sight made Adam widen his eyes in rage and disbelief. "What? Did you just absorb my energy?"

He looked up, but Wilbur was nowhere to be seen anymore.

Just then, the air echoed with Wilbur's voice, "I'm not the Wilbur Penn you once knew, Adam, and you're not the Adam you used to be either! Take this!"
