Wilbur stopped talking abruptly as a wave of electricity passed through him and he lost control over his body. The next second, a defensive barrier of dark energy appeared around Wilbur as he also began to absorb the power of darkness.

Wilbur stopped short at the sight. "What... What are you doing? My body's going to explode if you keep going!"

"There's no time to worry about that! Your name's Wilbur Penn, isn't it?"

"Yes, but..."

"Let me ask you one thing. Do you want to save Earth or not? Answer me right now!"

"I do."

"Even if it costs you your life?"

"Yes!" Wilbur shouted at once. He had thought about things ending this way already, but it still left him rather indignant.

He had passed the tests in the magical tower. Was he really going to fail at saving the world?

Just as Wilbur was thinking to himself, the rampant dark energy quickly entered his body. Among the clouds, the four figures rapidly absorbed the dark energy. Within just two hours, all the dark energy had been released from the ancient formation, and the rocks used to lay down the formation dissolved into thin air.noveldrama

The dark clouds in the sky were rapidly absorbed as the skies finally turned clear. Everyone was shocked and confused about what had happened, but all the dark clouds were gone save for the one above the core ancient formation.

Eventually, the last dark cloud disappeared to reveal the four figures in the sky. They were all radiating thick black miasma that was quickly absorbed into their bodies, and three of the figures became one to form the Dark Lord's original form. A black dot appeared on the Dark Lord's forehead, a symbol of the evil gods. Everyone who had become an evil god would have a black dot on their forehead, and the Dark Lord smirked at Wilbur from where he was standing. "You're not Wilbur Penn."

"How do you know that?"

"Because regular cultivators wouldn't know how to take on an evil god."

The smile on the Dark Lord's face disappeared, replaced with an expression oozing venom and resentment. "You're an evil god. You knew that I could become the ninth evil god after Bahamut, but you stopped me. Do you know how foolish you've been, you bastard?"

One had to activate the ancient formation and absorb its pure dark energy to become an evil god, as the dark energy made up the evil god's original form.

The twelve ancient formations represented the twelve evil gods, but now Wilbur had absorbed a fifth of the pure dark energy released from the ancient formation activated by the Dark Lord. That would merely make him just half an evil god.

The Dark Lord would have to absorb all the dark energy Wilbur had taken from him if he wanted to become an evil god for good. Wilbur had not expected the senior living inside him to be an evil god, let alone one that would help him stop the Dark Lord from becoming an evil god.
