A powerful wave of energy rippled over. The tower Wilbur was sitting in shattered under its pressure, causing him to widen his eyes in shock as he flew toward the lake.

Wilbur landed to see No-Night sitting in the middle of the debris, cradling a lifeless Jade in his arms. His black hair was completely white now, and he looked beside himself with grief. Tears rolled down his face as he muttered Jade's name over and over again.

Wilbur's chest ached at the sight, but he knew that this had been Jade's fate from the start. "Miss Jade has passed on, Senior No-Night. Take care of yourself."

No-Night turned to look at Wilbur, his voice oddly calm all of a sudden as he said, "I told you that once Jade left me, I would go and look for her. We shall never part."noveldrama

Following that, he began to release black energy aura from his body.

No-Night took one last look at Wilbur. "I'll leave this place to you, Wilbur Penn."

No-Night and Jade disappeared into the air as No-Night's dark energy was completely released, rising into the sky to form a dark cloud. The next second, electricity passed through Wilbur's body as the Dark Lord took control over him.

"Hahaha! Get over here, all of it!"

The Dark Lord spread his arms, looking up at the dark cloud in the sky. The cloud seemed to sense the dark energy in the Dark Lord's body, automatically forming a vortex to feed the dark energy downward.

Wilbur tried his best to regain control over his body, but he was suppressed by a powerful dark aura. Dark energy entered his body as the dark cloud began to shrink, then finally disappeared after the Dark Lord absorbed everything.

"Hahaha! Did you think I'd be scared of you just because you sealed me into Wilbur's body, Kaiser Fern? Not a chance! I'll kill you too one day!"

Just as the Dark Lord was laughing, the seal on Wilbur's chest began to emit a golden glow. The Dark Lord's powerful energy aura was quickly overpowered as the seal absorbed the dark energy before disappearing without a trace. Wilbur was overcome with nausea and collapsed onto the ground, falling unconscious.

Without the support of No-Night's powers, the mirror dimension he had created disappeared at once. In the next second, Wilbur appeared on the ground by the entrance of Gemglass Village.

Three days had passed when Wilbur finally awoke. He opened his eyes to find himself on a bed, with a middle-aged man pressing at his hand. "Ah, good. You're awake!"

Wilbur rasped out, "Where am I, sir? Why am I here?"

"You're in Gemglass Village, of course. I found you passed out at the village entrance three days ago and brought you back here. You've got your own luck to thank for waking up, though."

"Thank you."

Wilbur rested at the man's house for two days, bidding him farewell after feeling like he had healed. His chest ached every now and then as he walked along the meadows, sending jolts of pain as if his heart was being scorched by fire. Wilbur managed to walk on for a little while longer before his eyes rolled backward and fainted once more.

The next time Wilbur woke up was two days later. This time, a middle-aged woman named Auntie Sue had saved him.

Auntie Sue saw Wilbur waking up and said, "Young man, I know you're trying to leave Gemglass Village, but you should at least wait until you've fully recovered. Look at you, you're clearly still injured. You're bound to pass out again if you try to leave now."
