Chapter 142
Chapter 142:.
Justin’s eyes widened in surprise. He rushed over and picked up his daughter, who frowned. In her dazed state, she saw Justin and said, “Daddy, Cherry’s stomach really hurts….”.
A stomachache….
Justin rushed to take her downstairs, but Cherry instead cried out, “I want Mommy…. Mommy…”
Mommy….
On the way to the hospital, Justin pulled out his cell phone and called Nora at last.
The phone rang for a long time before it was finally picked up. The recipient also sounded upset as she said, “You better have something important to say.”
Justin said, “… Pete’s stomach hurts. I’m taking him to the hospital now.”
There was only a second’s pause before his voice became much clearer; he had evidently woken up. He said, “I’ll be right there.”
In the VIP room at Finest Hospital.
Justin sat on the edge of the bed and looked at the little girl lying down. Intravenous fluid was flowing into her body through the needle in her hand. Cherry, who was finally no longer in pain, had fallen asleep.
Suddenly, the door was pushed open and a figure rushed in front of him like the wind.
Justin saw Nora approach Cherry in a slippery but anxious manner. He reached out and checked her pupils. Then, he held up his other hand as if checking her pulse. Next, she stood up and glanced at the intravenous fluid Cherry had been prescribed. After checking all this, the woman, who had a cold look on her face, finally said, “It’s a normal stomach flu.”
However, she didn’t relax much even after saying that.
Cherry was born prematurely. She might look stronger and sturdier than Pete, but that was only because Nora had put a lot of work and effort into caring for her back then.
Compared to most people, things were more problematic when she fell ill.
Nora pulled a bag of pills out of her pocket, took one out and popped it into Cherry’s mouth.
The action woke Cherry, who opened her eyes in a daze. When she saw Nora, she let out a soft ‘mama’ meow like a kitten. After that, she swallowed the pill, which had melted in her mouth the moment it went in, and fell asleep again.
This time, however, she looked much better.
After Cherry’s condition stabilized, Nora, who was dressed entirely in black, suddenly stood up, hooked her finger around Justin’s, and walked out.
Justin slowly stood up. The corners of his lips curved slightly upward and the beauty mark at the corner of his eye gave off a seductive charm.
He followed Nora out of the room and watched her turn toward the side staircase. Before entering, she returned his gaze.noveldrama
Her almond eyes were warm and inviting.
Justin approached her again. He had barely rounded the corner when someone suddenly grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him toward the wall. By the time he was pinned against the wall, the woman had already moved closer to him.
She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt with one hand and held him tightly, while the other hand also held his hands, thus trapping him in place.
Justin did not resist. He leaned meekly against the wall and looked with a smile at the woman in front of him. Although she was half a head shorter than him, the look in her eyes was wild and untamed as she lifted her head and stared at him. She asked, “Mr. Hunt, why did you come to me when your son became ill?”
The mirth in Justin’s eyes intensified.
Did she suspect he knew the truth?
He asked calmly, “Aren’t you a doctor?”
Nora doubted his statement, but the man not only seemed calm, but his eyes were dark and unreadable. She couldn’t tell at all what he was thinking. He continued and asked, “There are a lot of good doctors in the hospital.”
Justin’s voice was low and deep. Nora could even feel the vibrations in his chest when he spoke.
“But none of them are you…”.
So, was it because he knew she was Anti?
Clearly, that was what he meant, but he made it sound like he was whispering sweet nothings to her. That man really was trying to flirt with her at every turn.
Nora’s gaze flickered a little. It was then that she realized that the man’s overpowering vanilla scent had filled her nose as they stood so close to each other.
Her grip on his shirt collar loosened slightly and she pulled away from him. However, there was still some resentment in his eyes as he asked, “What did Pete eat last night?”
Justin didn’t dare get careless, so he listed the dishes one by one.
“Ice cream, fries, mousse cake, iced watermelon juice and…”.
As she listened to the menu he nonchalantly relayed, the corners of Nora’s lips spasmed and she blurted out, “Children have weak digestive systems, so they can’t eat too much at night, especially when there’s hot and cold food churning in the stomach. Even adults wouldn’t be able to stand it, not to mention children…. How have you raised your son to his present age, Mr. Hunt?”
Since Pete was staying with her lately, she had taken the opportunity to give him a complete checkup.
Other than being a little thinner than most, there was nothing really wrong with him.
However, seeing how carefree Justin was, she couldn’t help but doubt whether or not he was fit to be a father.
The preachy Justin touched his nose awkwardly.
“…”
Of course, he was strict with that brat’s diet, but whenever he was in front of Cherry, the moment she called him ‘daddy’ in that soft and tender voice of hers, he just couldn’t harden his heart, Okay?
However, this was really his fault.
The usually domineering man backed down and said with sincerity, “It’s my fault.”
Only then did Nora resume a straight posture. The next moment, however, Justin let out a soft laugh and added, “However, we originally ordered those dishes for Miss Smith. Since she didn’t come, Pete and I could only eat them ourselves. After all, it’s not good to waste food.”
Nora, “?”
Did that guy blame her for abandoning him?

At the other end of the hallway that connected the hospital’s VIP rooms.
Joel, who was in the hallway, was talking to the doctor. He asked, “My Third Uncle’s condition was already under control a short while ago, why did he suddenly faint?”.
The doctor touched his glasses and sighed. He replied, “We did a CT scan on Mr. Smith and found a tumor in his neck.
The specific details remain to be seen, but we will speed up the process and check whether it is malignant or benign.”
Joel nodded. There was a hint of anxiety in his usually gentle countenance. He asked, “What if it’s malignant, and what if it’s benign?”
The doctor heaved a sigh and replied, “Mr. Smith’s tumor is located very close to the arteries and is very dangerous. Most hemangiomas are benign. As long as the patient is well cared for, there are usually no major problems. However, if it is malignant, there will be some difficulty in removing it surgically.”
As the tumor was very close to the arteries, the moment one showed the slightest carelessness, even an unsafe hand could lead to the patient’s death.
Anti was probably the only one in the world who would dare to perform such an operation.
However, the doctor did not dare to express it aloud. He could only hope that the tumor would turn out to be benign and that the patient would undergo conservative treatment.
When the doctor finished talking to Joel about Ian’s condition, he left for the consultation room.
A frowning Joel made his way into the room. His brow furrowed when he saw the lights of the other VIP room on the same floor.
Someone immediately explained, “It’s Master of the Hunts. He’s got the stomach flu, so they brought him in to give him the IV.”
Little Lord of the Hunts? In other words, Tanya’s son?
It was already too late. Tanya would probably be there too, wouldn’t she?
Joel, who wanted to see her, walked toward the other room impulsively. However, as he passed by the stairs, he suddenly sensed something and quickly turned his head. Through the glass window in the stairwell door, he could see a man and a woman sharing a passionate kiss inside….
The man was Justin Hunt.
As for the woman, it was…. Nora Smith of the Andersons?
As if petrified, Joel froze where he stood.
