“Colton, why’s this place buzzing like it’s New Year’s?” Melany asked, glancing curiously at the packed floor.

Colton shrugged indifferently, preoccupied.

He had come here hoping to find information on Hacker’s World for his mother, but so far, he’d hit a dead end. Lost in thought, he stopped short when his attention was snagged by a familiar figure across the room.

Melany’s face went rigid, her voice trailing off as she muttered, “What’s she doing here…?”

They both remembered their last encounter with Allison in Muisvedo — when she’d locked them in a warehouse, leaving them scrambling to escape.

Colton was taken aback seeing Allison in a shimmering silver dress. She sat there, expressionless, but her presence commanded attention. Even he couldn’t escape her allure. His irritation simmered as he watched her, once again captivating the room with effortless elegance. Not long ago, she had been his wife. Now, she felt as distant and enigmatic as a stranger.

“I never thought Allison was this well-off. Places like this don’t just open their doors to anyone,” Melany murmured, her voice feigning innocence.

She cast a sideways glance at Colton before adding, “Looks like Charisma Company has been quite generous with her. Mr. Lloyd must’ve really lined her pockets.”

Colton’s expression darkened at the mention of Kellan. His jaw tightened, and a hint of resentment slipped through. “Her affairs are none of our concern.”

Before he could say more, a waiter interrupted, offering them a warm smile as he presented a tray of drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

“Would you care to place a bet, sir, madam?” The waiter’s voice brimmed with enthusiasm. “Tonight’s a rare occasion — with Kylo himself presiding over the high-stakes match between Amor and Scarlet Snake. It’s bound to be thrilling!”

Colton glanced up, noticing a heated debate among the crowd nearby.

“Thrilling? Please, the result’s as clear as daylight! We’re talking about Amor here. She hasn’t lost once. Sure, Scarlet Snake’s got a colorful past, but there’s no way she can take down Amor.”

“Right, betting on Scarlet Snake is like setting your money on fire.”

“Whoa, hold on! I’m putting seventy thousand on Amor!” Melany’s eyes flickered with intrigue at the mention of high stakes.

She leaned in, gently tugging Colton’s arm, her voice a soft, honeyed murmur. “Colton, since we’re here, why not join the fun? There’s no news from Hacker’s World right now, so why not kill some time?”

Then she sighed wistfully. “Besides, it doesn’t look like Allison has any supporters. Maybe betting on her would be a nice show of faith.”

Colton stayed silent, mulling it over.

For a moment, he lifted his gaze and thought he locked eyes with Allison. But she didn’t pause or acknowledge him; he was just another face in the crowd to her. Could she truly be that indifferent?
