Chapter 774
Chapter 774:.
“There’s blood.”
Chloe saw blood dripping from Dolores’ leg from the path Matthew had passed by.
Noah unconsciously glanced at the ground. In fact, blood was still evident on the clean white floor although it wasn’t much.
He was shaking with fear and speechless with his mouth ajar.
Chloe remained calm and nudged him, “It’s probably because she’s about to give birth. Let’s hurry over and see if we can help.”
Noah came to his senses and ran immediately. He said, “I’ll drive the car.”
He wasn’t sure if Matthew had heard him. In any case, Matthew didn’t answer him.
He was walking very fast and his expression was serious. In fact, he was already panicking and no longer a tactful man.
You could tell his pace was quick and unsteady as he was in a hurry.
As he walked through the wedding hall, the car they had come this far in was parked at the side of the road.
The driver got out of the car and opened the door in a hurry as Matthew approached. The driver was startled to see that there was blood on Dolores’ body, “Sir, she…”
“Start driving!” shouted Matthew angrily.
The driver rushed into the driver’s seat hurriedly and started driving as fast as he could.
Dolores buried her head in Matthew’s arms. She clutched her neck tightly, but she couldn’t ease the pain in her stomach no matter what she did.
It was like the pain of being cut and tortured.
She was really uncomfortable as her face turned extremely pale and she was panting rapidly.
Matthew hugged her and kissed her forehead, “I am here. I’m by your side. We’ll be at the hospital soon. It’s okay, it’s okay…”
He seemed to be comforting himself more than comforting her. He felt so stressed as if his heart was so congested that he was even experiencing shortness of breath.
His neck was all wet from Dolores’ tears and sweat. His forehead was beaded with sweat.noveldrama
“It… it hurts so much.” Her lips trembled as she sobbed hoarsely.
Matthew hugged her tightly. He felt her hand was wet too and thought it was sweat. Then, he lowered his head and pulled some part of her dress underneath her. However, her initially white dress was already stained red.
The driver was driving as fast as possible and had already run the red light twice.
Matthew urged him, “Hurry up!”.
The driver stepped on the accelerator again. He didn’t have time to wipe the sweat from his forehead, but he was glancing straight ahead and driving intensely.
Dolores shuddered even more intensely as she felt increasingly uncomfortable.
Matthew stroked her face and kissed her pale lips, “It’s okay, it’s okay. I’m here now. We’ll get to the hospital soon.”
Dolores was blurry and unconscious, as she could neither see nor respond to him.
At that moment, the car finally stopped at the hospital. After the driver opened the car door, Matthew got out of the car and ran to the hospital.
Matthew took Dolores to the main lobby, where the doctors were already pushing the emergency bed. The doctors asked him to put the patient on the bed.
He bent down and put Dolores on the bed. Dolores grabbed onto his neck and wouldn’t let go. So she bent down and followed the doctors to the emergency room.
When they got to the door, the doctor said, “The patient needs immediate surgery, you can’t go in…”.
Matthew said, “Of course I won’t bother you…”.
Dolores let go of his hand and weakly shook her head as if telling him not to come in with her.
The doctor pushed Dolores into the room. Matthew didn’t even get a chance to hold her hand for a moment.
“Please wait outside the door.” The doctor turned and walked into the operating room. The door immediately closed.
The signal light in the upper right corner turned red, indicating that outsiders were not allowed to disturb the operation.
Matthew stood still in front of the operating room door without moving, as if he had lost his soul.
The driver stood to one side and did not dare to say anything.
Ten minutes later Noah arrived with his family. Marina helped Jeffery walk quickly as Noah and Chloe went ahead to the operating room.
“Is he in the operating room yet?” she asked.
At this point, Matthew wasn’t in the mood to answer anyone’s question.
The driver whispered, “She’s already in the OR.”
Everyone waited outside the operating room.
After an hour, there was still no news. The atmosphere became stifling and tense, as no one dared to speak. Every second was torture for them.
Suddenly, the driver’s phone rang.
He reached to the side and picked up the call. It was from Jessica, who used to deliver meals at the hospital with the help of the driver. So she had the driver’s phone number, as it was convenient to contact him. Dolores had been out for a while today, so she called the driver to ask if Dolores should come back now.
The driver thought in his mind that Jessica was Dolores’ mother, so he should inform her. He said, “We’re back, but the lady is probably in labor. So she is already in the operating room, only the situation is still uncertain at this time…”
Jessica’s body shuddered, “What do you mean the situation is still uncertain?”.
The driver said, “We are in the operating room on the sixth floor. Come closer.”
He couldn’t explain himself clearly.
Jessica hung up the phone and immediately left the room.
When she reached the operating room, she saw the Harris Family, but did not greet them. Instead, she went directly to Matthew, who was closest to the operating room door.
He saw that the bloodstain on his white shirt had dried and turned dark red, and also on his hands.
He instantly understood what was happening. He suppressed the panic in his heart and consoled him: “Dolores has been suffering since she was young and it’s all over. From now on she will enjoy a happy life. She will be fine. Don’t worry too much and go wash your hands now. Dolores won’t be happy later if she sees you like this.”
