Chapter 776
Chapter 776:.
Tomorrow was the weekend, the kids told Jayden after school that they wanted to visit Dolores in the hospital.
“Grandma!” Amanda ran to Jessica who greeted her with open arms.
She reminded her to slow down, but Amanda rushed toward her at full speed. Her momentum almost knocked Jessica over, “You never listen to her, do you?”.
Amanda wrapped her arms around her neck, “I’ve missed you and I want to hug you.”
Jessica patted her back, smiling, “What’s left of my life depends on you.”
“No problem,” Amanda replied without hesitation. Any adult would be happy to hear such an answer.
“Let’s go in,” Jessica carried Amanda in her arms, “This weight, soon I won’t be able to carry you.”
Andrew walked straight into the patient room looking for his mother, “Where’s Mom?”.
Jessica was stunned and immediately said she was under monitoring.
“Monitoring? Has she given birth to our baby brother?” asked Andrew excitedly.
Jessica nodded.

“Yes, I’m a big sister now.” Amanda hugged her brother excitedly, “You’re going to be big brother.” Andrew was speechless.
Jayden asked, “Is Dolores all right?”
Jessica looked at the children and said, “It was critical, but she’s fine now.”
“Did Mom give birth to a girl or a boy?” asked Andrew.
Jessica forgot to ask.
“I don’t know. The doctor didn’t mention it and I forgot to ask.” Jessica slapped her forehead, “How could I have forgotten?”noveldrama
Maybe the situation was critical and intense. They focused solely on the safety of the baby and the mother and were relieved once her condition stabilized. No one remembered to ask about the baby’s gender.
“Can we take a look at the baby? Then we could ask the doctor if we have a sister or brother,” Andrew asked again.
Jessica said they couldn’t see the baby yet, but they could ask the doctor about the gender.
“Are we going to the doctor now?” said Jessica.
“Great, I want to see the baby.” Amanda was thrilled to see the baby.
And so, Jayden, Jessica and the children headed to the doctor’s office.
The doctor told them it was a boy. “Is it a boy,” asked Andrew, “Can we see him?”.
“No,” the doctor replied.
And he was not fit to be seen at that moment.
Andrew bit his lips, disappointed.
“Is my mother all right?” asked Andrew.
The doctor was glad to see him regarding his mother. “She’s fine, you can see her tomorrow,” he replied, smiling.
“Thank you,” Andrew thanked the doctor.
“It’s our job,” the doctor replied.
Andrew again thanked the doctor for keeping his mother and brother safe.
“Where’s Dad?” asked Andrew as they left the doctor’s office.
‘Mom’s due date is such an important day, where’s Dad?
“Your dad is up to something, I guess he’ll be back soon,” Jessica explained.
‘What’s more important than mom and the baby? He should be here,” Andrew complained.
“He’s not, he was here and he just left,” Jessica explained patiently.
Andrew let out a sigh of disappointment at not being able to see his brother and mother.
A week later…
Dolores’ condition stabilized, while the baby’s bruises were also disappearing.
She was moved to the patient bundle. The hallway outside her room was filled with bouquets of flowers sent by Matthew’s friends and business acquaintances, congratulating him on the newborn.
Oscar came straight from C-Town bringing gifts upon hearing that Dolores had given birth to a son.
Coincidentally Boyce, Jasmine, Armand and Theresa also came to visit.
The room was full of people.
While Jessica was busy serving drinks and fruit, Oscar delivered his gift to Dolores.
She had improved after a few days of rest and was able to get out of bed.
“What’s this?” she asked as she looked at the gift in his hand.
“Take a look,” Oscar said.
She could guess what was in the bag, “I told you…”.
“Give it to your youngest son if you don’t want it. This might keep him from fighting over money with his brother in the future,” Oscar interrupted, smiling.
Dolores smiled, too.
“Keep it,” Oscar said.
Dolores assumed, “But you’ll still have to manage it.”
“Of course, I’m still young, I’ll hand it over when I retire.” Oscar knew she was busy.
Matthew approached at that moment.
“Have you named the child?” Oscar asked.
“Not yet, why don’t you name him,” Dolores said.
Oscar hesitated and took a look at Matthew, he was her son, he needed her agreement.
“You can name the child, Dolores decides everything in our family,” Matthew said.
Was that the so-called public display of affection? thought Oscar.
