Chapter 818
Chapter 818:
“I have more than a thousand ways to send you to jail, try it if you dare,” Armand said with complete nonchalance and confidence. This scared Dora, as she was about to defend herself, she remembered that Armand was a lawyer, practiced law and could easily frame her for any offense that would be enough to send her to jail.
“I’ll leave, but first you have to pay me this month’s salary.” Dora was angry, she wanted to earn a large amount of money, but instead she got herself fired.
Armand reached for his wallet, pulled out a stack of hundred-dollar bills and threw it on the floor.noveldrama
“You’re too rude!” shouted Dora angrily.
Armand, for his part, put his wallet back in his pocket, “Do you even have any dignity?”
“Armand, Dora is a fine young lady, what are you doing, who’s going to take care of me if you throw her out?”. Elizabeth grabbed Armand’s hand, “Cut the crap…”.
Armand pulled her arms back and said as he pushed the wheelchair away, “I’ll get a new caregiver, this one is fired.”
“Armand…”
“Do you want me at home or her? You choose.” Armand demanded Elizabeth to choose.
“There is no choice for this…” Elizabeth shouted.
“But you must choose.” Armand insisted, “I will never set foot in the house again if she stays.”
Dora picked up the money on the floor and immediately left knowing she could no longer stay in this house.
“Dora.” Elizabeth felt sad to let her go. A lady who served as her companion and cared for her, it was a waste to let her go.
Dora turned and looked at Elizabeth before stepping into the elevator and leaving.
“What exactly do you want?” Elizabeth didn’t know what Armand’s intention was.
“Go home,” Armand said. And she was silent on the ride home.
Armand threw everything in his house and on the wall put up by the teacher Elizabeth invited last time into the trash can.
“Armand!” Elizabeth called nervously.
“I didn’t know how to protect my baby, I’m destined to be a childless man,” Armand said as he threw the statue in his room into the garbage can.
Elizabeth was horrified, “You can’t throw that away, it will bring bad luck…”. Armand ignored her and continued cleaning everything up.
Once he was done, he pushed Elizabeth onto the couch and sat down across from her. “I am an unworthy person to have parents, child and partner, so my parents died young, I lost my unborn child and my partner is leaving me now. As you wish, I will let her go, but stop hoping that I will remarry and have a child. That is impossible, I, Armand Bernie, am destined to be a childless man.”
“Armand…” Elizabeth was truly horrified by his speech.
While Armand was calm. “I’m not kidding, Theresa suffers a lot being with me and I won’t give you the chance to force or pressure her again. I will let her go free not because I don’t love her anymore but because I don’t want her to go through all this with me. I am weak for not being able to protect her, it is also my fault that I am not able to satisfy you. Forget about having a child, if you must threaten me with death, please go ahead, I will not stop you, I will follow you. I will commit suicide after your death, it will be a relief for everyone.”
Armand stood up once he finished, “That’s all I want to say, now I’m going to find a new caregiver.” After that he left.
“Armand, wait, Armand!” Elizabeth screamed, but Armand didn’t stop, he walked out without turning around.
Elizabeth was stunned, she didn’t know if she should go back to her room or stay where she was.
At the villa, Dolores returned with Theresa. Knowing that Theresa was in a bad mood, Dolores sent her straight to her room.
Dolores wanted to leave her alone to rest, but Theresa grabbed her hand.
“I’ve made a decision.”
“What?” Dolores turned to her and quickly understood what she meant. “You’ve decided to divorce Armand?”
Theresa nodded, “Yes.”
Dolores sat on the side of the bed, “I will support whatever decision you make.”
Theresa smiled at her, “I always make the wrong decision.”
“It’s not your fault. We underestimated Elizabeth’s stubbornness.” Dolores comforted her. “Stay here quietly.” Theresa nodded.
Theresa was weak, so Dolores left her alone to rest. She closed the door and reminded Coral and Jessica not to interrupt Theresa and not to ask questions.
Both Coral and Jessica immediately understood the situation.
Everyone gave Theresa a warm welcome at dinner, no one asked any questions.
Theresa went back to her room to rest after dinner while Dolores received a text message from Armand. He wanted to meet her, he was at the door.
Dolores came out and saw Armand standing on the side of the road, she didn’t go in.
“How’s Theresa?” asked Armand.
“What do you think?” Dolores knew better than to speak to Armand in that tone, but she couldn’t control herself when she saw how Theresa had suffered. “What’s your plan?”
Armand looked at the floor, “As long as Grandma is alive, she’ll always be in our way…. There’s not much I can do, I’ll let her go and release her if that’s what she wants.”
“Have you made up your mind?” asked Dolores.
“I’ll listen to her and do what she says,” replied Armand.
“Is that why you asked for a meeting, to tell me this?”
“No. There’s something I’d like you to pass on to Theresa,” said Armand .
