A Divorce He Regrets

Chapter 309

Chapter 309:

Not unless I get her to transfer and distribute everything among the family, especially the kids. The thought made me smile.

Nathan was cunning, but I was a genius. For once, I wanted to have the upper hand, and it felt like this was the time to do so.

I nodded, stood up, and left MY office.

His temporary ass would be out of there very soon.

I took my phone out of my breast pocket and pressed the stop button on the recorder. Then, I rang Alex.

“I think I have a way to get Nathan out of the picture…” I spoke into the phone the second he answered, which was on the second ring.

“About fucking time…” he sighed. “Where are you?”

“I’ll be home in an hour. I need to handle something first…”

I got to my car, drove down a couple of streets, and pulled into the family lawyer’s office building. I knew I should have discussed this with Raina first, but that would only slow me down and take too much time. We didn’t have that.

Nathan and Osbom needed to be eliminated.

“Mr. Graham…” the lawyer said, standing on his feet to greet me. “I wasn’t expecting you…”

I didn’t expect to be in his office either, but here I was. I nodded and took a seat. Out of the few times I had been here, I always took a look around. At the back of my mind, there was always a thought to make sure that no one could hear us.noveldrama

“I need you to draft some property transfer documents fast, and whatever you have going on needs to be canceled. This is an emergency.” The urgency in my voice almost made me cringe. The desperation was heavy and thick. I embraced it.

This was my family we were talking about. There was no time to think about what he or anyone else thought of me.

He looked up with wide eyes, and a frown followed. He wanted to know why I requested these and why he needed to come with me.

“Come on, man. Hurry the fuck up, we’ve got shit to do.” I urged, and he nodded, typing away on his laptop.

And soon, well, after what felt like an eternity, he got to his feet and walked over to the printer by the door of his office. “It’s ready…”

I jumped to my feet at that announcement and was out the door in seconds. He followed with his bag, and we walked down to my car.

Halfway through the drive, he broke the silence.

“Are you going to tell me why you want to transfer the property?”

“Soon, James. I need you to be there with everyone when I tell them…” I gave him a quick glance, then fixed my eyes back on the road.

There was this sense of calm that he had and always carried. I knew I looked like a maniac right now, but there wasn’t a trace of panic in his eyes or features at all.

“Dom, I swear if you don’t talk, I’ll rip your throat out…” Alex snapped at me. James and I had arrived at the mansion moments ago, and I called everyone out for a talk.

“Okay, so Nathan called me over to talk…” I made air quotes around the word “talk” as I paced. Raina stiffened where she sat.

“What did he want?” My sister scowled in her spot. Sensing her disdain for the man, Alex wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

“You…” I blurted, and her eyes widened. Alexis followed soon after that.

He jumped to his feet, about to protest, but I lifted a finger, stopping him. “He wants you two to get divorced—again. He wants you to marry him instead, and he will help us take out his uncle…”

Alex was a mixture of rage and calm. It was a scary sight to behold. “Please tell me you didn’t agree to this, man…”
