The old man was completely unaffected by Wilbur's question, instead flashing him a smile as he patted Wilbur on the shoulder. "I'd say you'd have made it in life if you were able to get really, really good at just one thing, young man. The mirrors our village makes are of much better quality than those from anywhere else. We'll never be worried about them not selling."

"Really? Are you sure you aren't pulling my leg, sir?"

"Why would I do that? You can walk around and take a look for yourself if you don't believe me."

"Alright. Thank you, sir."

Wilbur bid goodbye to the old man, then walked past a few muscular hunks polishing mirrors of their own. He realized that they were all using the same technique, and nothing really stood out among the crafters. Wilbur guessed that maybe the quality of the copper ore was just good enough for the mirrors polished from it to be of better quality as well.

Yet after purchasing a mirror for himself and searching through it with his spirit senses, Wilbur found that there was nothing special about the bronze itself. However, there seemed to be a faint energy aura hidden in the mirror that did not belong to the bronze, which piqued Wilbur's interest.

Ever since Wilbur first started cultivating, he had known that all famous places bore a special energy aura field. That was what nourished the place and drew in many tourists and visitors.

The mirror's exceptional quality was probably related to that faint energy aura inside of it. However, regular mortals would not know about it, thus Wilbur could not just ask anyone on the streets about it.

A middle-aged man polishing a mirror without a shirt on said, "What makes our mirrors different from the rest isn't actually the quality of the bronze ore, but... Come a little closer, and I'll tell you."

Wilbur stuck his ear in front of the man, who said, "It's the water from the well that we use to wash the mirrors with."

"Well water?"

Wilbur frowned at the man, who raised an eyebrow defensively. "I swear that's it! But our well's different from others. The one we have is called the Nightfall Well."

"That's right. Every day after dusk, dark clouds appear from the Nightfall Well and fill the entire village. Once that happens, someone just needs to blindfold themselves and take out two buckets of water from the well that they use to polish mirrors with. Any mirror polished with that water will be positively sparkling, and even make your reflection look extra perky."

Wilbur furrowed his brows at the words. The dark clouds mentioned sounded similar to the appearance of a Night Demon. He had been wandering around for half a month now, but there was still no sign of the fourth Night Demon. Could it have been hiding in Gemglass Village this whole time?

To confirm his suspicions, Wilbur asked, "Why do you have to be blindfolded when you take the water? Isn't that unnecessary?"

"No, no. Your eyes have to be covered if you want to take water from Nightfall Well. Those are just the rules. Someone tried it without a blindfold and was so scared of the reflection in the water that they fell headfirst inside. Even the three people who tried to save him died in the well. The four bodies were only pulled out of the well the next morning by the villagers, and the blindfold rule has been put in place since then."

The man's explanation made Wilbur grow more and more curious about the Nightfall Well. After all, those four victims would have never fallen into the well if it did not bear some special form of power. Maybe the Night Demon had lured those victims from the well and killed them there.

Wilbur suspected that this Night Demon hiding in the well used a spirit attack similar to the snake man Night Demon. He planned to check it out for himself so as not to bring further harm to the villagers.

It was time for the sun to set eventually, but that did not happen. Instead, the

setting sun began to rise slowly. At the same time, black miasma began to rise from the Nightfall Well in the middle of Gemglass Village, slowly forming the dark clouds.
