Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 2562

More and more dark clouds gathered, covering the village completely. It was as if Gemglass Village had been plunged into darkness, a stark contrast to its perfectly bright surroundings. Upon seeing this, the villagers stopped polishing their mirrors and cracked a few yawns, heading inside to get some rest.

The people in the Eternal Sunshine Dimension followed the regular lifestyle of working after sunrise and resting after sunset. The only difference was that their sky was still bright after the sun had set. The Nightfall Well in Gemglass Village was able to create the illusion of nighttime, something that was considered a phenomenal sight in the Eternal Sunshine Dimension.

Wilbur sat on a nearby rock, watching the Nightfall Well quietly. He waited until the entire village was silent before walking up to the well, leaning over to look down at the water.

Under the faint rays of light hidden between the dark clouds, Wilbur could see his reflection in the water. Everything looked nothing but normal, which made Wilbur frown. Could he have made the wrong guess?

Just then, a man's voice sounded from behind him, "Young man, are you here to get some water to polish your mirrors with too?"

"W-What?"

Wilbur froze, before turning to see a handsome, pale young man walking toward him. They locked eyes, and the young man waved at Wilbur with a smile before tossing the bucket tied to his wrist into the well.

He waited until the first bucket was full before pulling it up, tossing in the second bucket after that.

Once both buckets were filled, the man carried them to a nearby bench. He then sat down and got to work polishing a mirror.

Wilbur stared at him. "Aren't you heading home?"

The young man splashed more water onto his mirror with a slender hand, smiling at Wilbur. "Oh, I might wake my family out if I work at this hour. I promised someone two mirrors early tomorrow morning, you see."

"Ahh."

Wilbur turned away, returning to the well to observe. He was still frowning at his reflection when a cold hand grabbed him by the wrist. Wilbur whipped around and came face to face with the young man.

The young man flashed Wilbur another smile. "I just wanted to remind you not to look into the well like that. It's really dangerous."

"Thank you."

Wilbur nodded, turning back to the well. He was about to check on the water again when the sounds of a mirror being polished echoed through the air. Wilbur turned around sharply but could not find the man behind him. Instead, the young man was back on the bench polishing his mirror about fifty steps away from Wilbur.

Was it possible for him to have walked fifty steps in the time it took for Wilbur to turn around? Could the young man behind Wilbur be an illusion? His icy touch had felt so real.

Wilbur turned back to the well, just in time to see a black skeleton rise out of it. The skeleton reached out with a hand, grabbing at Wilbur.

Wilbur acted at once, throwing a punch at the skeleton. The golden dragon appeared, crashing into the skeleton as a powerful wave of energy spread out that knocked Wilbur several meters backward. The skeleton had completely fallen apart when he looked again, falling back into the well. Wilbur turned around and saw that the young man polishing the mirror had vanished as well.

Realization struck Wilbur at once, and he smirked while saying, "Don't bother hiding anymore, Night Demon. Come on out."

"I don't know you and you don't know me. Why are you trying to kill me? I just like hiding here, polishing my mirrors. Why won't you let me go?"

Wilbur sneered. "Why would you attack me out of nowhere if you really just wanted to polish your mirrors? And did you know the people who drowned here in the past, too? You just want to keep hiding here, hiding behind the excuse of polishing your mirrors while you kill people."

The Nightfall Well fell silent for a moment before the Night Demon's voice echoed through the air once more, "I guess you found me out in the end. Well, you're not leaving Gemglass Village alive now."

"Is that so? I'd like to see which one of us ends up dead, actually."

Just then, the dark clouds in the sky began to spin ferociously. They formed a vortex that connected to the Nightfall Well, sucking up the dark clouds rapidly. Soon, the clouds disappeared, and brightness returned to the sky.noveldrama
