Chapter 2579
"What..."
Wilbur stared at the broken pieces on the ground in shock. The next second, the remaining dragon cauldrons, too, fell to the ground in pieces.
"Senior..."
Fremont said, "Wilbur, I want you to put all of the Nine Dragon Cauldrons back together. Once you can do that without them being blown apart right after, I'll tell you the secret of the dragon clan."
"But the winds here are so strong! It's too difficult to put the cauldrons together, Senior."
Fremont said nothing and turned to leave, vanishing out of sight the next second. "What the..." Wilbur blinked hard. "Is he... gone?"noveldrama
He tried again, and the nine cauldrons were quickly assembled. This time, they lasted a few seconds until the wind knocked them apart again. Wilbur tried many more times after that, but the cauldrons would be knocked into pieces just seconds later.
This made Wilbur rather upset, and he looked around before letting out a sigh. He squatted down, starting to put the cauldrons together again as he muttered, "What's Senior Fremont trying to do here? I've found all the cauldrons, so why is he making me assemble them here? Is there some hidden meaning behind this?"
Wilbur went at it for two days and finally understood Senior Fremont's intentions as he bent down to pick up a piece from what must have been his ten thousandth try.
The Snow Mountain Lydia was riddled with powerful winds, and wind could pass through any nook or cranny. Wilbur might have channeled his dragon aura to block the rampant winds, but there was still somehow a tiny little breeze that managed to sneak past it.
The dragon cauldrons could not change their form, and the only way to keep them upright was to block the winds from hitting them.
The thought gave Wilbur an idea, and he began using his mind to multiply the dragon aura around him. He then got back to assembling the cauldrons, but they still fell apart after a new record of fourteen seconds.
"Argh! What is going on?"
That one faint breeze had somehow made it past the barrier of dragon aura he had channeled, and it was driving Wilbur crazy. He finally understood then that no matter how hard he tried, the dragon aura could not completely stop the winds from getting in.
Wilbur thought to himself, 'Senior Fremont would have been able to use the dragon aura to block off the winds completely, but he's so much more powerful than I am.'
It was simply an impossible mission.
Upon realizing this, Wilbur finally gave up. He had tried his very best but was still unable to complete Senior Fremont's task for him. Yes, the old man must be doing this on purpose. He did not want to tell Wilbur the secret of the dragon clan, after all.
