Chapter 131
Chapter 131:.
Caleb was also flabbergasted. He looked at Justin in disbelief and then at Nora before hesitantly asking, “Your son’s mother?”
Nora’s expression turned solemn.
Had Justin discovered the truth?
“Miss Smith and Pete get along very well. Pete thinks of her as his mom, too.”
Nora breathed a sigh of relief. So that was what he meant? That guy could scare someone to death with his words.
Caleb also let out an obvious sigh of relief. He looked down and said with a smile, “Mr. Hunt is certainly fond of playing pranks. Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought Miss Smith’s child was his…”
It was clear that he was trying to provoke Justin with his words.
If Nora’s son had not been Justin’s, he would no doubt have made a long face. However, Justin said with a smile, “If I start a family with Miss Smith, I will definitely treat her daughter as my own.”
Cherry, who was in his arms, pursed her lips in contempt when she heard what he said. Who was it that deleted her from his Facebook account?
Caleb, who didn’t seem to expect her to say that, was a little stunned. After a brief moment, he looked at Nora and asked, “What about you, Ms. Smith?”
Nora also wanted to turn Caleb down. Now that she had an excuse ready, she could use it.
So, she said, “Yes, I have liked Mr. Hunt for some time. Besides, my marriage arrangement with the Grays was already cancelled long ago in California.”
There was a wistful look in Caleb’s eyes. He let out a heavy sigh and said, “Very well, then. Anyway, I only made the marriage agreement to help you out of that situation in the first place…. It’s better to make friends than enemies. Your mother was also good friends with the Grays back then, and I can’t kick you while you’re down, either.”
Then he added, “But ultimately it’s the Grays who did something wrong first. How about this? Let’s consider that I owe you a favor. I will definitely repay you if I have the opportunity to do so in the future.”
Nora had originally thought Caleb had come all the way to New York with the marriage settlement for her. She hadn’t expected him to let it go so easily.
She immediately felt guilty for harboring such petty thoughts about him just now. She was quick to say, “It’s not the Gray’s fault. I was the one who got pregnant before the marriage. It’s understandable that the Grays would want to break off the engagement.”
Caleb shook his head, however, and said, “You didn’t know how you got pregnant either. It wasn’t right for the Grays to abandon you under those circumstances. You don’t have to say any more, Miss Smith. If there is anything you need my help with in the future, let me know.”
“… Okay.”
Caleb smiled again and said, “Then I’ll leave first.”
As she saw him turn to leave, Nora called out to him, “Please wait a moment, Mr. Gray.”
Caleb returned her gaze with his clear, soft eyes.
His gaze was as if she were scum.
Nora coughed and said, “Can you break the marriage agreement?”
Caleb smiled and said, “I originally intended to keep it, but since you asked, I’ll give it back to you.”
He pulled out the marriage agreement again and handed it to Nora. “I went to California once when I came back to the United States this time. My father had taken the marriage agreement out to burn it, but I happened to see it, so I kept it.”
Nora examined the marriage agreement: it was identical to the one she had torn up. She rolled up the marriage agreement and put it in her pocket.
Justin squinted when he saw what she did.
As expected, Anti was really a careful person. He knew better than to leave any trace of her, so he must be planning to destroy her completely at home.
Caleb smiled.
He had actually come to the same conclusion as Justin and thought she intended to take him home and destroy him there.
Cherry, who was in Justin’s arms, was the only one who couldn’t help but grimace. Mom was simply too lazy. She wasn’t even willing to expend the energy to break the marriage agreement, let alone take a few steps to throw it away….
If she was so free, she would definitely prefer to sleep a few more seconds instead.

Somewhere else.
In the garden.
Pete went into the garden in a dress. The other kids surrounded him as soon as he entered the classroom.
“Cherry, your live broadcast yesterday was very exciting!”
“Chief, did you see the donation I sent you? It was a total of $150,000, you know! It took me a long time to save that kind of money!”
“Me too! Me too! I also sent you $15,000!”
“And me! And me! I sent you $15,000 too!”
“…”
As everyone was talking, little Mia whispered, “Cherry, I sent you $150,000 too!”.
It seemed to Pete that the others were very loud and annoying, but Mia spoke shyly. Her voice was melodious and pleasant to the ear, so he was a little more patient with her than with the others.
He nodded to Mia. Then he went to his seat expressionlessly and coolly, pulled out his Math Olympiad worksheets and began working on it.noveldrama
Seth was about to walk over to talk to Cherry, but as soon as he got close, he noticed Pete doing his Math Olympiad homework. He looked at him silently and was surprised.
The problems Cherry was solving were much more complex than his. To top it off, they were two grades higher!
He looked at Cherry with a complicated look and walked away silently.
The teachers had also noticed Cherry’s unusual behavior, but considering how Mrs. Lowe had abused her the day before, it was normal for her to be down today.
Therefore, they were very sympathetic to her and gave her extra meat during lunchtime. They also took away all the vegetables she didn’t like.
Pete, who had never experienced such warmth from others, was quiet.
He looked at the kindergarten with his cold, distant eyes, feeling as if something had been released in his heart.
A small hand held him at that moment. Just then, Mia’s shy voice reached him. “Are you a boy today, Cherry?”
Pete was taken aback. He asked, “How did you know?”
Mia, who was a little embarrassed, replied, “It’s because you’re always so lively and never shut up when you’re a girl. But when you’re a boy, that’s when I can get a chance to talk to you~”
Pete, “…”
While he was in a daze, Mia suddenly came over, leaned into his ear and said, “Don’t be afraid, Cherry. Dad told me that they’re going to change our dance teacher. Something seems to have happened to the Lowe’s. Have you noticed? Sinead the little dog isn’t even in the garden today.”
Pete, “…”
Was Cherry really afraid of the dance teacher?
However, it was really ticklish how the girl leaned into his ear to talk.
As the two were talking, Miss Lynn walked in with a woman. She said, “This is our new dance teacher~ Her name is Tanya Turner, and she is even more famous than Mrs. Lowe. She will teach everyone how to dance in the future. Please all clap for her.”
Pete clapped with the rest of the children.
Soon it was time for dance lessons. As Tanya was teaching the children to dance, she noticed a small, petite girl who had an envious look on her face outside the classroom.
For some reason, even though there were many children in the daycare, Tanya found this little girl especially endearing at first glance.
She approached her and squatted down. Just as she was about to speak, Mia suddenly closed her eyes and fainted.
