Chapter 151
Chapter 151:.
The black SUV was large and imposing, looking especially striking parked there.
However, what drew even more attention than the vehicle was the person leaning nonchalantly against it while using her cell phone with her head down.
Nora, who was dressed entirely in black, was leaning lazily against the car as she went about her business overseas. She was completely unaware that she had become a sight to behold.
Students coming and going, as well as passersby walking past the university gates, had their gazes riveted on her.
Fair-skinned, tall, slender and curvy, people couldn’t help but turn their heads.

Lisa was also a little surprised to see her. She called out, “Nora?”
At the sound of her voice, Nora finally raised her head lazily. Her feline eyes looked first into Lisa’s red, puffy eyes. She quietly finished what she was typing on the phone, sent it, and finally asked hesitantly, “What’s wrong?”
The two words, however, made Lisa feel like a wronged child who had finally found her parents.
She could no longer control her emotions. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she said, “I…. I lost my ID card and my admission ticket, Nora!”.
Nora, “?”
She had come over to take a look because Lisa had an interview today. She had not expected such a situation at all.
She had been abroad all these years, so she didn’t know much about how Lisa was doing in school.
She had originally wanted to be admitted to graduate school on her own, but she hadn’t expected to run into problems. Given that she had lost both her ID card and her admission ticket, it certainly wasn’t a simple accident.
Lisa looked totally discouraged after saying that. She ducked her head and her shoulders slumped. Before coming to New York, her mother had told her not to give Nora any trouble. For that reason, she had put up with it all this time.
However, she couldn’t help it anymore. She wanted to ask Nora for help. But not to help her get in through the back door, but to help her fight for a chance to attend the interview.
But before she could say it, Nora approached. As she walked past her, she said, “Come with me.”
However, those two coldly spoken words made Lisa’s eyes redden.
She lowered her head and followed Nora.
Angela frowned. “What are you doing, Nora? You’ve already refused to let me attend the interview. Are you pretending to come in the back door? It’s not going to work.”
Nora rubbed her ears and uttered with annoyance, “You’re too loud.”
Angela, “…”
She blushed and said, “You…”.
Nora suddenly looked at her coldly. “If you don’t shut up, I’ll make it so you can’t talk anymore.”
Her eyes were cold and threatening, they were tinged with impatience when she spoke. However, his slight show of irritability was actually due to the fact that he had not had enough sleep.
Angela, however, did not dare to say anything more and was really silent.
She reluctantly followed them and the two returned to the interview site.
On the way, Nora took out her cell phone and pressed it several times. When they arrived at the interview site, Angela couldn’t help but mutter, “Isn’t it a bad idea to bother Director Shaw about something as trivial as this, Nora? Principal Shaw is not going to accept me as a student if you do that. Instead, you should use whatever convenience the Andersons’ name can get to get me admitted to school! …”
The clerk, who recognized them, stopped them resignedly. “Please show me your ID card and your admission ticket.”
Angela lowered her voice and said, “I already told you it wasn’t going to work, but you had to insist on this. Now that we can’t get in, it’s going to be very embarrassing. You…”
At that point, Nora pulled out her cell phone and showed the staff member the screen.
Seeing what she saw, the staff member was instantly shocked.
Her attitude became much more respectful and she asked, “Is there anything that requires you to come in person?”noveldrama
Nora picked up the cell phone again.
What she had just shown the staff member was her position as an honorary professor at the university. The tenured position was actually quite useful.
What Nora didn’t know was that this would never work in the cases of other professors. However, Anti had already become a legend to any medical student long ago!
The staff member in charge of keeping order here was also a teacher at the school, so naturally he knew her.
Nora pointed to Lisa. “Can an electronic ID card serve as proof of your identity?”
The staff member immediately replied, “I’ll go check with the higher-ups.”
“Okay.”
The three of them continued to stand there in the meantime. Angela, frowning, couldn’t help but ask, “What did you show the staff member just now?”
“… Not much,” Nora replied.
Angela shut her mouth grumpily.
She thought it was probably a business card or something from Director Shaw. As expected, the Andersons were in contact with him. After all, Director Shaw was the only one in the entire medical university whom staff members treated with such respect.
Nora didn’t care for her, but, surprisingly, she was quite attentive to the little twit.
Five minutes later, the staff member returned and said, “You can come in for your interview now!”
Lisa walked into the interview room.
Angela leaned over to Nora, who was leaning against the wall outside, and said mockingly under her breath, “She’s still useless even if you help her. Do you know she actually wants to focus her research on repairing cranial nerve damage? Are there any surgeons who do that? Most people with brain problems are already at risk of death; who would worry about petty problems like that? Besides, I’ve done my research; very few people do that in the United States. Director Shaw once wrote a paper on it, but unfortunately, it went nowhere in the end…”
Nora raised an eyebrow.
She had never thought Lisa’s research would focus on that.
A contemplative look crossed her eyes.
The interview didn’t last long. Lisa left the room about ten minutes later. She had a rather horrible expression on her face.
She had panicked after losing her admission ticket and ID card. To make matters worse, the examiner’s questions during the interview she had just taken had made her even more nervous, so she felt she had not answered well.
Angela looked at her smugly. “I told you not to attend the interview, but you had to insist – aren’t you embarrassed now?”
Lisa said nothing. Instead, she let out a huge sigh.
The results of the medical school interviews were usually announced the same day, so the two of them didn’t leave after the interviews. Instead, they continued to sit outside.
The waiting was boring Nora, so she said, “I’ll be back in the afternoon.”
Lisa nodded.
Angela pursed her lips and looked at Lisa. “Go buy something to eat at noon. I’m sure you’re not going to pass anyway, so you’re not that anxious about it, are you? I don’t have anything to worry about either. After all, Director Shaw and I have already come to an agreement…”
Her mention of Director Shaw caused the examinees around her to look at her enviously.
Becoming the object of everyone’s envy, Angela raised her chin smugly.
Mutual selection between candidates and professors was permitted in graduate school applications. This was not considered cheating; after all, everyone did it.
However, people still found it impressive who could contact Director Shaw and come to an agreement with him.
By five p.m., all the candidates finished their interviews.
Half an hour later, the final admissions results were posted.
